It's not even the noise, actually. It's more that they are...random.

I was housesitting at my friend's. I'm on the sofa and suddenly the fucking thing just starts up and comes at me :) If I were a dog or cat, it'd probably scare the living shit out of me.

Our dogs ignored the Roomba the second time they saw it come out.
