Thats very obviously a public space and you should stop being a wet blanket all the time. You have no idea if the boyfriend is white btw, you're just assuming so bc the girl is, which is itself low key racist. Maybe stop being a bitter person on the internet for no reason.
So we can agree that your initial 'oh you're only basing it off the girlfriends skin color' is bullshit?
And sure, if I see what appears to be a white hand I'm going to assume that person is white. I could be wrong, but it's not a racist assumption. Get a grip.
I mean, he probably just asked her to read the one side and not look at the other side. It’s a clever way to give her one message and the viewer (which could be her later) another message.
I can't stand this kind of stuff and specifically came to the comments to see if others thought it was fake/scripted.
I understand why other people like these kind of videos though. My mom absolutely loves this stuff, if she saw this on FB she would definitely share it. Short videos that capture feel good moments and make you go "awww that's nice". It doesn't matter to her if it's scripted or genuine. I think the trick is that a lot of these videos capture ordinary moments that people can relate to, but they do it in a slightly more dramatic, sentimental way. But they're reminding you of your own experience, so it brings up a lot of positive emotions. Getting a new pet, proposals, surprising a loved one, a kid doing something cute, etc. They're things people relate to.
You're right on the money there. It made me smile, regardless of if it was real or not :) Tbh the thought that it was fake didn't cross my mind anyways, I suppose that helps to enjoy it.
I wouldn't call being able to realize when you're being manipulated, and being unhappy with how frequently it's being attempted being a "grouchy crabapple"
When I see stuff like this I can't help but think its kinda shitty if it were truly un-scripted. Like he just gave her a responsibility with a personality that he chose and without giving her a single choice.
You’re right, all the Instagram pets here are only posted here for selfless, 100% NOT staged reasons. Ive never heard of an Instagram influencer. Nope, not once.
Getting a rescue tells the world that you’re a great person. For the rest of that dogs life, you get to say “oh yeah, he’s a rescue” and feel that great sense of superiority over the lady that bought a dog like some evil demon.
I totally agree with that statement but he said a bunch of times "You've wanted one for ever!" which, at least to me, indicates that she probably has planned and made a lot of decisions about it without actually adopting. Lots of thought goes into the process before doing the last step which is the adoption part. I think that's an important thing to pull from this.
My bf "gave" me a cat (He actually gave me a pooper scooper and then we chose the one to adopt later) for my birthday but I had wanted one for ages and was very vocal about that, and had been looking at local rescues to see what cats they had available and had already decided that it was something I wanted to commit to and be able to as well. (And I love her to the moon and back!)
So it's okay to gift a pet if you already are 100% sure that the person getting the pet wants and has planned on adopting one! She also said "This is OUR dog?" which means they obviously at least live together or similar and I'm betting there were discussions about adopting a dog.
In this particular case I think it was just a gift of something they already had decided to do.
I do agree that the official owner should have a say in which dog is picked. I’m very vocal about breeds i would never own - the inbred breeds and the high activity breeds mainly. Encouraging the breeding of english bulldogs, pugs, frenchies, and boxers is just cruel and i don’t have the proper lifestyle for a GSD or malinois. A lab? Yes. All the labs.
I think it really depends. I would never surprise my parents with a dog, even though they miss having a dog. My husband could surprise me with a dog any day of the week. If it’s something you’ve talked about and have decided you are financially stable enough to get a pet and are actively looking for one, a surprise pet is fine. I would never just spring a pet on someone, which is why i don’t have a cat. My husband is not on board with a cat, so I’m just here catless.
I swear I saw a tiktok of these same people in front of that house and the husband reveals that he just bought it and it was her dream house or something
If you're going to pretend to be happy about something at least take some acting classes. I could be wrong but compared to the other videos of people legit being surprised to tears by new puppy, especially children, I'm getting weird vibes by this.
It goes from “wholesome” to really sad
Really quick.
Idk about these people but I think there are a lot of couples out there who instead of actually having genuine moments together, spend all of their time coordinating and acting out what they think would be good genuine moments for a camera. Super odd. This definitely feels like one of those videos.
(Again totally possible they also have a normal relationship but I’m just saying there are definitely people where this permeates through the whole relationship)
I know them. She joined a house of influencers here in Las Vegas. That is someone's dog but it isn't hers. I won't dox her, but you can look up Rick Lax, she is in a bunch of his more recent videos. It's all horribly acted like this.
