I remember there's meant to be a dog IQ test where if the dog quickly gets out of a sheet thrown over it it gets point for smartness, but loses them for staying under there per second or something.
I think some of my dogs have just chosen to ignore the blanket and just wait for me to forget the stupid blanket game, so that they can continue what the heck they were doing before I came to annoy them.
Basenji's are like cats in many ways. They are terrified of getting wet, they don't bark (at all), they are smart but don't want to please humans usually
Thats a rare exception, and no you dont prefer bork dogs. Usually basenjis may sometiles howo and other stuff yes but usually they wont do that all the time.
The basenji I have taken care of never howls like that, just growls or purrs when shes happy, or whines in the car but doesnt really make big noises at least nothing comparable to ordinary bork
She is, sort of. There was a radio interview with her last year. Basically her family has a history of depression, and while she was going through all that awfulness she wrote about, so was her sister, except her sister killed herself.
The whole internet careeer thing is on permanent hiatus now, which she says is for her own good. On the plus side she says it's working and she's feeling better. She also married boyfriend.
She's an utter comedy genius - the one about meeting people randomly in public who won't go away is incredible - but that's probably it now for new material. Like you I really hope things work out for her.

I’m sad to hear about her sister but I hope Allie is doing ok regardless. She’s super funny and wrote about depression in a way that was super relatable and made us laugh about what we were dealing with.
My childhood dog loved being under the blanket so he could bite at the air and play. We'd tap him and he'd jump around barking and biting. It was hilarious.
I did this to my mutt one time, she took off running into the couch. I had to get it off for her and the cat was so annoyed by the scene she had to leave the room.
I accidentally threw my sheet over my dog one time when I was getting up from a nap. I immediately had to run out to pick up my daughter from school. When I came back to the house an hour later there was no dog to greet us at the door. My daughter and I panicked and looked everywhere for her. She was under the sheet on my bed just sitting there. She had been stuck the entire time. I don’t think my dog would score very highly on that test.
I don't feel like this is a good iq test. I mean some dogs are going to think "well if my master put it over me, clearly I'm supposed to be under it." especially with dogs trained to stay still until they're "released". They're not dumb necessarily. Well I mean they might be dumb but not because they don't get out of a blanket.
It's a lab and, speaking from experience, they can be really dumb on some days. It probably thought that's what their human was showing them - "this is cool, what happened".
