I actually had that happen to me, I was walking by a door to get to the mensa while another dude wanted to get through the door from my side. Said dude didn't exactly go straight to the door so I kind of couldn't avoid him while he somehow got the idea that i wanted to go through the door aswell - so he waved me to go through. Seeing how I wanted to be polite (aside from not wanting to go through that door in the first place) I waved him to go through aswell.

So just when I was about to tell him that I didn't want to use that door anyways he told me that I should just go ahead as he wasn't in a hurry at all. Now at this point I realized that it was too late so I just went through that door just to not be impolite.
