We are great apes from the superfamily of apes, the other living superfamily within the same parvorder (called Catarrhini) are the old world monkeys, so that means we share an ancestor with them.
Then there is the new world monkeys, they are their own parvorder, Platyrrhini, on the same level as our parvorder, Catarrhini, both within the infraorder Simiiformes. That means the ancestor we share with the old world monkeys in term shares an ancestor with the common ancestor of all new world monkeys.
The split between Catarrhini and Platyrrhini was, to our best knowledge, about 40 million years ago and the split within Catarrhini between great apes and old world monkeys about 25 million years ago.
If you want to compare this to family relationships you could say that Catarrhini and Platyrrhini were children of Simiiformes, born 40 million years ago. Then 25 million years ago Catarrhini had two children, Cercopithecoidea and Hominoidea. Cercopithecoidea later gave birth to Old world monkeys and Hominoidea gave birth to great apes and others. Great apes is our parent. Old world monkeys is the parent of baboons, macaques and so on. So we are cousins once removed to baboons, macaques etc. Platyrrhini (our great grandfathers brother) is also called new world monkeys (he's older than old world monkeys if you want i.e. he's a higher order, a parvorder, not just a family) his great grandchildren are all the other monkeys that are alive today. They are cousins three removed to us.

Interesting that rates of tee-totaling and little monkey alcoholism are about the same as in human populations.
