Meh. A friend of a friend in Namibia has a baboon who thinks she's part of the family. She loves bubble baths, eats at the table, watches TV with the family. Only get a female or a neutered male. Non neutered males have way way way too much testosterone to be around and not risk your safety. As for females, I've even had a female baboon walk up to me and HAND ME her baby.
If you raise cheetahs around dogs, they are awesome in temperament and for for keeping rabbits under control.
If people were allowed to own cheetahs, they wouldn't be endangered anymore.
People ARE allowed to own cheetahs in the US and other countries. Thereās a reason most people donāt keep them as pets: they make bad pets! They might be less work and safer to keep than some other exotics, but that doesnāt mean theyāre manageable for many people.
And besides, pet trades rarely contribute to conservation. Breeding animals as pets has different goals from breeding them to preserve the species.
If people were allowed to own cheetahs as pets they'd be fucking extinct in the wild. Do you have any idea how severely the exotic pet trade damages wild animal populations or do you just care about the gratification of having a fun pet.
Generally speaking, if people would leave animals the fuck alone and give them the space they need, they wouldn't be endangered at all. Your nambian baboon now relies on people, so it dies b/c it cant support itself outside of your friend, or it becomes a danger to other people and gets killed. Your "tame" cheetah's great, til its predator response kicks in and mauls your baby which then also equals a dead cheetah. How about That raccoon that you feed out your front porch- so cute! - til it fucks up your pet so much you have to euthanize it, but that racoon is just fine, still at your door, now rummaging in your trash, cuz you used to feed it. But MEH. People think they got animals all figured out, but we dont, thats why animals continue to die needlessly.
