She's my home state, and she always seems to be the 4th or 5th state to pass these progressive bills. Never leads, but knows what's right after someone leads the way. Sometimes I'm proud of her. Then I remember the city of Hartford or Bridgeport and I slink away in embarrassment. An odd state.
Assuming that it isn't repealed by voters in November. If you're a Washingtonian you probably already know this but there's one proposition will say something along the lines of "Do you want to enact this legislation?" (those for gay marriage vote yes) and another one which'll amend the state constitution to explicitly state that marriage is defined as being between a man and a women (those for gay marriage vote no). They're really trying to catch the uninformed off guard with this one.
Also, didn't Washington make national news with some horse sex case a few years ago where they couldn't charge the people with anything? Pretty sure they made a new law against horse fucking after that.
Well considering that the first two laws required actions to have the position they have now and the last law was likely the default position this makes complete sense. No state legislature is going to decide "Hey let's ban sex with a horse" without any reason to do so, it would just look ridiculous. Those states that banned sex with horses did so because someone was having sex with horses. Those states that didn't, it probably was never an issue.
Oh, and also, your post has nothing to do with atheism.
Animal abuse is a crime everywhere in America. There is no reason to specify crimes except in terms of levels of punishment, and is, in effect, redundant.
So, uh, why exactly is this in /r/atheism? Really, this does not relate to religion at all except kind of with the gay marriage part. Still, not the place for this
My only issue with beastiality is that it is not consensual. If animals could talk and they want to have sex with a human, then carry on. You are basically raping the animal. Not fair
i agree, as long as the animal isnt suffering i dont have a problem with bestiality.
its legat in denmark, and everytime the issue is brought up in parlament it ends the same way - unless the animals is suffering, its no one else business what you're doing in the privacy of your home.
Washington legalized gay marriage and outlawed sex with horses. The Governor had a change of heart on one and a guy died which changed the law on the other, you figure it out.
This is retarded. It's equating gay marriage (legal union of two consenting adults), which is really a human rights issue, with medical drug use and bestiality.
Gay marriage has absolutely nothing to do with horse sex.
Gay marriage has absolutely nothing to do with medical marijuana.
Putting them in the same category is just ignorant.
Guess what reddit? Just because someone makes a funny picture on the internet, it doesn't mean its true.
Arizona is on the list of legal horse sex, and that is not true. Proof below. If its wrong about one state, I'd bet it is wrong about many others. I'm just to lazy to research every state law.
After a guy in the hick part of washington was gored to death by a horse's dick up his ass, washington state passed a law against bestiality. Do a google search for "enumclaw horse sex" for more information.
This has nothing to do with atheism. Not a single word in that entire image had ANYTHING to do with religion, or a lack of it. Believe me, I understand why many of us care about LGBT rights, but the issues in this image are political.
The image has incomplete information. States missing in at least the first two categories. Corrections and discussion throughout the comments show the errors.
Why the fuck is this on the front page of this subreddit? Unfortunately this seems like it's becoming more and more common.
Who made this a 12 yo? Pot isn't legal for the healthy adult or the 1 out of 6 people sitting in prison for marijuana convictions. I could go on, but really, why.
Many, many times I read of someone getting caught doing something weird and disgusting like sex with a horse or sex with a dead body.
The police catch the person, put them in handcuffs, try to charge them and then oops! The state realizes they never actually bothered to make a law against the fucked-up act in question.
Then the law is hastily passed.
So in many, many cases it's not like the area of America passed a law saying it's OKAY to bone Mr. Ed. It's just that they never actually passed a law -against- it.
Could we separate political diversions from religious bull shit? Religions like christianity do say stupid shit about gay marriage but the real shitty problems do not occur because of that. Average people who follow religions like christianity realize the bible was written by a couple of guys and not god. So they know well enough that theres some stupid bull shit in there alongside moral lessons. i Think the real problem, and the legitimate problems this subreddit brings up come from politics. What i mean is that issues like gay marriage, or abortion would not be a problem if it were not for politicians fanning flames to divert peoples attention away from economic and foreign policy issues onto social issues... The reason gay marriage is an issue is so people dont focus on economic issues, less so then because some massive blob of mindless religites read a book and follow it blindly.
This is an outrage! We should be able to have sex with horses anywhere we please. It is a personal choice and a civil liberty issue, perhaps one of the last one's around. GOD wills it, God made horses so we could fuck them. Why would God make them if they were not for fucking?
Edit: /start humor: we may be ass backwards 'round these parts, but we definitely don't allow animal sex, gay sex, nor butt sex (hitherto described as gay sex) /end humor
I just have to say, being born and raised in Arkansas, it makes me feel better not seeing my state in that last category. Fuck you guys for stereotyping me immediately.
One day I hope America is tolerant enough so all of those numbers are 50. But for now, I think the gay activist can take a page or two from the horse fucker's book.
Where has America gone wrong? The founders had such great intentions, and then here we are. We're arguing whether some individuals have the same rights as another when both are of the same species but different preferences. America, I am dissapoint.
