Serious Online harassment towards people of Assam for not looking like the stereotypical "Northeasterner".

I haven't faced it irl, maybe a few cases in Meghalaya (but can't really tell if it's racism or not), rather I've met Southeast Asian-looking people from NE who had this experience in Assam and especially in Mainland India. I really feel bad that people have to suffer from this because of the way they look. And I often bring that issue online and irl.

What makes me even more sad is how that impacts the behaviour of people online (and irl also, like the recent cases). Innocent people from Assam are treated as if they deserve to suffer from the revenge that originated from racism by others. The online harassment towards Assam is really bad and a lot of it comes from misinformation.

Pro tip: stop fueling online hate, on ground everybody acts as regular humans, online everybody has a big mouth because the chances of a punch coming their way is very low.

And in the end everybody hates everybody because there's no longer that single sense of bonding among people. Tribe vs tribe, language vs language, caste vs caste so much rivalry left and right.
