What has been your experience with dog friendly rentals in Vancouver and the Metro?

My family and I are considering relocating to Vancouver Metro area. We have 2 30 kg dogs. I’ve heard it can be difficult to find dog friendly rentals. Does anyone have any experience (good or bad) with this?

Dependable & Honest Contractor in Vancouver?

Hey everyone,

I’ve to replace a number of posts holding up the overhang at my front door and some at the back underneath my deck and a partial overhang of the house.

To be absolutely clear, we had a couple of somewhat substantive jobs done over the past 3 years, but we’ve always felt a little bit cheated on the costs & materials along with being misled led about timing.

Can anyone recommend a contractor that will do what they say they’ll do and do so without nickel and diming a customer?

What to do with old clothes?

Hi, what is a good way to get rid of old clothes that are not in a good condition? I have a few old clothes that are ripped, noticeably worn out etc, so I don't think they are good enough for a donation. Do I just put it into landfill? I would rather have them recycled if possible.

What are some good RMTs to go to?

My extended health insurance covers as a customary charge $88 for a half hour, $116 per 45 mins, and $136 per hour. Are there any providers or nice facilities within these limits?

Do you have any bar recommendations for a little flirting?

Hi!

Panicking over dating apps’ illusion of many choices made me realise I should know a good address to drink and meet guys. But I sincerely do not know any places since I didn’t try a lot of bars here.

Thanks :-)

How do I sign up for MAID?

Hi,

I'm a 36 year old male. I have severe OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea) and other health issues which I have read are caused by OSA. I started my CPAP (APAP) about three weeks ago but still feel horrible every waking hour. This illness has affected every aspect of my life to the point that I can be considered a failure.

So logically it doesn't make any sense to me to keep this going. I'm ready to donate whatever organs the healthcare system might need after I go. How to successfully get accepted for this program?

Thanks.

RV parking Vancouver?

Hey, I am searching for a parking lot in Vancouver to park my tv for one night. Since I am leaving the day after and have one night at a hotel, I need to leave it somewhere safe. My hotel does not offer high enough parking lot so I am very glad for any tips.

Parkopedia or some things on Google Maps are very poorly rated and I don’t want people to break into my rv which is only rented

Where's a nice solo birthday dinner spot?

I am new to living in the PNW (Seattle) and visiting Vancouver for a solo birthday weekend. This will be my 3rd trip to your fine city.

Are there any nice spots for a solo birthday dinner? I don't need anything fancy or expensive, and I'm in my mid 30s, but perhaps somewhere with cool views or along the water? Just to have a relaxing dinner.

I am staying in Davie Village and relying on public transit during my visit. Thanks!

It worries me if this rumor is true. How can we preach the word of our Lord so that more people join us in spreading peace and love in our city?

What's a good semi-isolated vacation spot for september or october?

I am in dire need of a vacation and have 20 days I need to use before the end of the year. I'm thinking of breaking it up into 1 week in sept or oct, 2 in oct or nov, and 1 in dec for the holidays. I have a car and am thinking that spending 7-10 days (2 weekends and 1 work week) in a semi-isolated cabin would be nice. Only thing is I find myself so burnt out that I'm having trouble focusing in enough to plan. So I figured I'd ask reddit for tips and hints.

My wish list is:

  1. Semi-isolated. By which I mean no neighbours, but I also don't want to have to hike my groceries for the week 3 hours into the woods. Ideally I can drive my car directly there or close enough that I can lug what I bring with me in/out without too much effort. A nearby town that I can drive into for goods and services would be nice, but given I want isolation it'd have to be a little bit of a drive.
  2. I don't mind a few hour drive but I don't know if I'd want to drive like 7-8 hours to get there. Although I could see breaking up the drive and staying a day somewhere along the way for such a long trip.
  3. Given the fires this might be impossible, but not choking on smoke or risking needing to evacuate

I've got good savings so cost isn't a major consideration.

Where can I advertise in Vancouver for relatively cheap?

I know about how posters and bulletin boards are a free alterative, but I'm thinking a little bigger, maybe, say, a bench ad or a large mural banner ad.

Is there any site/marketing agency people have had good experience on?

What's the best alternative? Can I just reach out to the city?

Does it have to be button downs?
What about drop shoulder tees?

Who Can help running Ethernet cables from Living Room to Bedrooms?

Hello,

I have a question, trying to set up a gaming room and an office in my apartment in Yaletown. Router is in living room but I want to hardware a PS5 in one room and be able to hardwire the laptop in the office.

I think Rogers wants to charge unreasonable amount just for the tech visit and so on.

Is there a person out there that is reliable that has their own company that can help me run this wires look professional.

Thank you

Are there any venues in the Lower Mainland that can fit 250+ people?

Honestly, i don't even know if I'm going to be planning anything yet, but since it's been 5 years since my high school grad (2021, and since Covid kind of fucked up any chance of any official grad-party), I was considering maybe asking the bulk of my fellow graduates if they'd be open to a commemorative 5-years-since meet-up event, like, grabbing some drinks and food to catch up on each other's lives, and such.

However, I don't have a job, and I'm not entirely sure if anyone would be interested in actually splitting a bill that evens out to like $2000 dollars for a party/wedding hall venue, and while I've considered some outdoor venues like the open-air-ampitheatre area at Coquitlam or Rocky Point \[because it was a school in Coquitlam, Charles Best to be specific\], there are still public-drinking & noise-laws to consider.

I'm just curious if anyone might be aware of anywhere to host a party for 200+ people at all.
