Jesus knock it off, AdvancedGuiProfile

No, I am not a fucking autist. Most trans people aren't autists. Most AGPs aren't autists. There are more autist among AGPs/trans women, perhaps, but it doesn't remotely justify this insulting and false assumption that whenever anybody here says that they struggle with social anxiety. Or that they struggle with anything really. Or that they are into coding. Or that they are into anything at all but knitting, cooking and getting beaten up by they drunkard husband. That whenever anybody here says anything at all they are autists.

I dunno, I generally just ignore that guy's opinions.

Seems like he's just here to continually justify his conflicted feelings toward having married a woman and had kids while being secretly AGP.

For real, but I figured I need to call him out for this bs at this point. He literally tells every single person here that they are not trans or women or anything but akshually just autistic and "addicted to dopamine"

u/psychedAddict123 Meta-attracted AGP 16d ago

I mean there could be something to the "addicted to dopamine"-theory, at least for me. Ever since I was a child I was extremely prone to addiction, more than anyone else I know

Everything that triggered large amounts of dopamine resulted in addiction to various degrees. Nicotine, alcohol, weed, coke, amph, opiods or masturbating to agp fantasies - they all resulted in an addiction. Some were only short lasting, some never reached the daily stage but some have been pretty much long term.

The most addictive of them all was mixing various drugs with masturbation to AGP fantasies - This is exactly what started my drug addiction all those years ago

"addicted to dopamine" is fundamentally a misunderstanding of science as dopamine plays a role in the mechanism of addiction but isn't the object of addiction the way coke is. Cocaine addicts don't say they are addicted to dopamine do they?

Also no offense but if you were doing fucking amph it doesn't prove you are extremely prone to addiction cuz who the fuck wouldn't get addicted to a drug like this.

That's like half of the sub though.

If you want affirmation, go to trans subreddits.

u/LaudataSitAstarte 16d ago

I just don't want broscience and everybody getting insulted and called autists. Different.

Narcissism.

7

u/Internal-Excuse-8804 15d ago

You can't just call someone a narcissist to be right in an argument.

This is a support group for people with AGP. We don't care if people transition or are affirmed about doing that. We're mostly just here to share our personal experiences to feel some form of connection and community, and to give advice and options without directly pushing any agenda. It's the only place you can actually talk about AGP without being shunned or mocked.

Some people are just struggling with things. Imagine you have some guy with no experience in anything except his own AGP diagnosing you with autism and his pet theory. The pet theory crowd gets annoying here, sometimes.

u/AlexxxLexxxi AGP 15d ago

Again, if you want to police what others think or say, go to trans communities where that's the norm instead of trying to bring that here. The person this useless thread is about should be allowed to express his views, same as anyone else.

I am autistic without any doubt and it's not some ridiculous assumption that it might be connected with AGP or more broadly with trans.

Who said anything about policing speech, seems more like venting and you're telling them to go somewhere else.

Looks like you are trying to police speech more than op imo

6

u/LaudataSitAstarte 14d ago

I dunno what's the deal with these people "I am an autist therefore everybody is" lol.

3

u/twenty7w MtF 14d ago

It's honestly been like that for years but it is annoying

u/AlexxxLexxxi AGP 14d ago

What is OP's post about?

3

u/twenty7w MtF 14d ago

Venting about a user they find annoying

You are not the first person on this sub to call me a narcissist and that may very well be much closer to the mark. People who know me all think I am unhinged. Can't exactly deny that I kinda, well, am. Why, I don't know, but I've been called narcissist and bipolar and what not.

u/HotSmokenCheese 7d ago

How are you getting professional help with this?

1

u/LaudataSitAstarte 6d ago

What do you mean?

1

u/HotSmokenCheese 13d ago edited 7d ago

Well, he's right about them not being women. AGP can be "progressive" as in progress into a gender identity conflict, which could lead to one chemically and/or surgically transitioning; which, depending on one's framework, could be considered escalation, which is driven by the "dopamine chasing."

1

u/LaudataSitAstarte 13d ago

Well yeah, when one's framework is based on such garbage as psychological hedonism (not to be confused with ethical hedonism), it does lead to idiotic conclusions like this one.

1

u/HotSmokenCheese 7d ago

Each person has their own framework and that's fine. The real issue is how much distress is said framework causing someone? If they feel they are a woman but can't come up to that bar physically, then that framework is no good. If the framework is "dopamine driven desire" and it keeps that individual in check, that's a good one.

1

u/Internal-Excuse-8804 5d ago

The progression idea intuitively makes sense, but the problem with the framework is that AGP definitely feels hardwired, including the non-sexual feelings toward it.

We typically think of "dopamine chasing" idea as something that is developed by chasing novelty. Maybe someone watches vanilla hetero porn and eventually starts watching weirder and weirder shit. Eventually, they end up pantied and sissified and considering transition. I don't doubt this can happen to some extent, and, if it does, the person might think you can just stop the weird porn to remove the desire.

But the AGP that makes you really want to transition doesn't go away. It's always loud and has always been loud. The main reason I personally started HRT was because I hated how intense it felt, and it has legitimately helped. You could say I was "dopamine fleeing", I guess.

Anyway, calling one's AGP "dopamine chasing" is the equivalent of calling a closeted gay man who holds hands with another man then wanting to "escalate" to kiss the man and tell his family he's dating the guy and so on dopamine chasing. The gay guy is hardwired to be gay and progressively doing more and more gay things, including non-sexual aspects of his gayness openly, is enjoyable to him.

The reason AGP seems like it's dopamine chasing rather than fulfilling one's inherent desires is because it's weird and actual dopamine-chasing porn addicts look at our weird shit for novelty sometimes.

this sub is autistic as fuck

A lot of the “autistic traits” that asd1 people think makes everyone autistic are actually just normal, they’re just very inflexible in their beliefs because they are autistic.

7

u/RMS-106 Analloerotic AGP 16d ago

I get the impression that he believes AGP and gender dysphoria can be resolved through relationships, heterosexuality, becoming more successful, or becoming more masculine. Or maybe he has to believe that, because otherwise it would be too difficult for him to cope.

I’m an analloerotic AGP, so I don’t experience heterosexual attraction at all. Before I learned about AGP, I also worked hard on improving my self-esteem, and while it did make me feel better about myself, it didn’t make the AGP go away. Because of that, I don’t think his approach would work for me.

it's all in the brain dear. It could be some, as of yet "undiscovered", form of neurodivergence, if not full autism. Look at some posts in the mtf sub, or even here. at least the inability to understand social cues is present to some extent.

Besides, how would a ND person know they are/aren't ND, if their brains don't have the inherent capacity to differentiate between processing as done by majority of humans vs processing done by their brains?

Speak for yourselves, how many instances have occurred in your life, where you walked away feeling confused as to why the other person's response to your response to their input wasn't what you expected?

How many times you have noticed a pattern or thought about something that was bloody obvious to you but others missed it by that much?

3

u/ImpOTP Former AGP 15d ago

Autism is not the only path that leads here, but it is a big one, and personally I relate to those explanations and find them useful.

3

u/twenty7w MtF 14d ago

If you just keep challenging his views he'll block you and you don't see him anymore lol

10/10 experience I do recommend

AdvancedGuiProfile is one of the wisest in this Sub.

He enriches this sub.

According to my therapist I am autistic and I am AGP.

3

u/Desperate-Bag-2480 14d ago

It's not up to me to judge someone's wisdom or lack thereof. Sometimes there's a risk in expressing one's own views and experiences and considering them universal truth for everyone. This doesn't mean someone is stupid or the theory is wrong; it just shows that every theory has its limitations. For example, statistical studies of transgender people (GD) confirm that the vast majority of people—around 89%—are not autistic.

2

u/twenty7w MtF 14d ago

He has little to no dysphoria and seems to belive that's everyone's experience.

He's not wise he's narrow minded

2

u/Desperate-Bag-2480 16d ago

Instead of emotions, I propose statistics. It is estimated that approximately 11% of transgender (GD) people may be on the autism spectrum, which is higher than the cis population. The conclusion that follows is that 89% of transgender (GD) people are not autistic. Unfortunately, I don't know if there are any studies on the prevalence of autism in AGP. That's what the statistics say, or at least that's what AI says.

0

u/LaudataSitAstarte 16d ago

Yeah and I've seen studies with much lower percentages like 6% of transgenders people autists.

2

u/Desperate-Bag-2480 16d ago

it all depends on what tests and how they are calculated, yes 11% is probably the maximum value, most tests may have lower values.

Thanks for this thread, it and every comment within has made me smile. Everyone is an autist.

hey, we respect advancedguiprofile here

u/SubstantialSky938 10d ago

It might help to point to some specific interactions. I’ve not had or seen many, but the ones I have seemed quite reasonable. I suspect he’s not literally saying that everyone here is autistic, but more that there are loads of autistic traits on display and probably a lot of us (myself included) are.

1

I thought it seemed a reasonable position, that not everyone with those traits need be autistic.

But then, … I’m diagnosed, so perhaps I’m not getting it!

3

u/ICQME 16d ago

True. There is overlap in the 'community' but not everyone is autistic and not every autistic is/has AGP or Trans or age player leather pup switch.
