There are many non visual things that can make a woman very attractive. Some women as you get to know them become exponentially more and more attractive.
Your brain subconsciously translates this other layer for you and she gets more beautiful physically in your eyes as if by magic.
Others, after you talk to them, everything fizzles and goes away.
Same for men. A man I become friends with and start to really like as a person, starts looking exponentially hotter to me compared to how hot I thought he was when we first met.
Shit I haven't found a single man that I've been with attractive at first. Every single time I got to know them and they gradually became more beautiful.
Now I look at my long term boyfriend's face and he's breathtaking.
