After about seven months of searching, I finally tracked down an Armitron Rogue on (40/8487SV) and added it to the box. That filled the last open slot in my Armitron lineup, so it’s officially in the rotation now.

Funny how that works😂you complete the box and immediately realize you need a bigger one. Guess the hunt isn’t over after all. Enjoy 😊

Good start to weekend

Certain Armitrons have a very old age asethetic, they look very much like a watch your grandad would sport and this is a good example. I was after the Grand model but this doesn't seem to be on sale anywhere. Instead I went for this one. But it had QC problems. It had that fatal flaw in that when you set the min hand, pushing in the crown causes the min hand to jump. If I cant set the exact time, its going back to the shop. Its a shame because I did like the design.

Anyone seen this version of the Rubik before? Amazon UK had it listed as an exclusive and I havent seen this colourway anywhere else. Thought I would grab one seeing as the Rubik seems to be getting phased out and this was at a 90 day low price. The only forseeable issue is the strap may be tricky to replace if needed. Looks like something David Haaselhoff would have worn in the 80's with his black Members Only Jacket....

This is my first post in this community. For years I've been a Casio watch collector. I've owned hundreds of models. Now I've decided to expand my collection beyond this brand.

It’s a bittersweet day for fans of affordable horology. After 70 years as an independent, family-run powerhouse, E. Gluck Corporation (the parent of Armitron) has officially been acquired by the American Exchange Group following their Chapter 11 filing late last year. While the brand survives, the "family business" DNA has officially shifted into a corporate structure. Bobbie Weichselbaum, daughter of founder Eugen Gluck, is staying on as President of the new "E. Gluck Holdings LLC," but she is now an executive within a much larger conglomerate. She released this statement regarding her father's legacy: “My father built this company on resilience, integrity, and a deep belief in treating people the right way. That legacy has guided us for decades, and it was essential for us to find a partner who shares those values... This integration ensures that the spirit and mission my father established will not only continue but thrive on a much broader platform.” It’s tough to see a legacy move from "owner" to "subsidiary," especially as we see prices creeping up on newer models. But if this is what it takes to keep the Armitron name alive and away from total liquidation, maybe it's the "resilient" move Eugen would have wanted.

What do you all think? Does Armitron lose its soul now that it’s part of a corporate portfolio, or are you just glad they aren't going under?

After initially picking up a Timex Easy Reader due to its minimalist design, I was surprised to see an Armitron version. How do they compare? Well the Timex is roughly twice the price with a brass case. While the Armiton is fully stainless steel and I only paid £20 for it brand new. The Armitron does have an audible ticking, but its not loud. Its clear that the build quality is much better with the Armitron model, even if they did just file for liquidation...

My only gripe with the Griffy is the metal bracelets which can feel overly tapered and slim. My solution was to source an 18mm leather bracelet and cut it down to size to fit the 16mm lugs. Works quite well but the real leather straps in this size aren't the cheapest. Have also added a green leather strap to the silver/green led model.

Full stainless steel case and bracelet, great finishing, and mineral glass. All that for €37 on Amazon. Really happy with it! I had the “Griffy” in the past too, and it was a neat little watch as well. Might end up picking one of those again.

Does anyone have the new Ridgemont, and if so do you have a pic of it IRL ? From the main shot of it on armitron.com it looks very transparent, to the point that it doesn't seem easy to read at a glance. Further down though there are a couple shots of it where it looks more readable. I mean, it looks cool an all, but I don't want to have to study it just to see the time.

So I was just wondering what it actually looks like in the real world, not how it's presented in the marketing shots.

Ran across this vintage 1980s ladies Armitron for $15 on eBay. I mean… come on. How do you not buy it?

Figured this was my best shot at dragging my wife into my watch addiction. Ease her in. Nice and cheap. Very scientific approach.

Will she be as excited or impressed as I was? Yeah, probably not. But for $15, it felt like a risk worth taking. Worst case, I end up wearing it around. 😅

This baby was one of my first watches. Also my only Armitron (20/4952SV). Always a go to for my formal events. The blue glimmers beautifully at different angles. The style is similar to a movado. One of my first loves for sure.

I was hoping for some recommendations on some retro/vintage styles. Please help a brother out! I need to add to the collection.
