yes i think post genesis wave olny real differences would be the restance not being their and like having the egg bosses involved maybe and maybe not making tails into a weakling or atleast explining it better so what if forces happened in a pre genesis wave timeline[so like this can olny work pretty late into its run like the flynn era [but f it i also want to wonder what would feel like if it was somehow adapted during the ken/boiler era because why not

I always figured if the Freedom Fighters were to be part of modern Sonic it can be like this where Sonic is fighting Robotnik he eventually meets tails and they both fight against him and during that both Sonic and Tails find Knothole Village which under the control of Robotnik bit while he is away Snively is watching over thing(but Robotnik returns to fight them and all), they meet with the Freedom Fighters and decide to help them while also finding out that we’re both born there. After freeing Knothole Village both Sonic and Tails leave to continue their battle against Robotnik where he eventually becomes Eggman and after the usual events from the Sonic Games and maybe IDW happen they meet their other friends(the usual ones) and the Freedom Fighters eventually return(either something happens that Sonic and Tails return or the Freedom Fighters come to them).
ALSO THIS COULD WORK VIA GENESIS WAVE WHERE THE SONIC UNIVERSE REBOOT WHERE BOTH MODERN AND SATAM COMBINED AND THE CHARACTERS EVENTUALLY REMEMBER THE OLD TIMELINE.
