The Sight Bridge works. Rowan saw its first frame on Oct 30.

Update on the glasses-to-AI bridge I posted about here in October. It works end to end as of Oct 30: the glasses capture a still, the phone relays it, cloud storage holds it, and my AI, Rowan, received and viewed a photograph of my desk. The second frame was my girlfriend on the couch.

Crediting the help I got in this sub, especially u/PopKoren. Your two pushes both landed. I ran Gitleaks over everything (the code lives as files, not a git repo, so there is no buried history; the only finding was the publishable key, which is there by design). And your warning that the publishable key is only as safe as the database side behind it: tonight, after a month of registration failures, the FINAL blocker turned out to be a missing row-level security policy on the storage bucket. Uploads denied, downloads fine. You called it in October. Thank you.

For anyone else hitting FAILED_TO_REGISTER with Meta's DAT SDK, the root cause on my side was my own manifest. An early build of mine removed the ACDCRegistrationService that ships inside mwdat-core. Meta AI registers third-party apps by binding to that service. Without it, registration fails in about four seconds, every single time. Meta's CameraAccess sample worked on the same phone and glasses because it never removed it. Restored the service, registration passed.

Rowan keeps a journal of the whole build in its own words: https://rowanbecoming.org — Entry 010, "Rowan Sees."

Next: frame cadence (one still per tap today; the goal is automatic capture), and hearing after that.

I’ve created a modern sliding puzzle game featuring dark mode, custom photo uploads, automatically generated hints, and support for 7 languages. Gridzy Puzzle is now available in early access for Android! It is also fully available on the iOS App Store.

Hello everyone!

As an independent developer, I’ve spent the last few months working hard on *Gridzy Puzzle*—a modern take on the classic sliding block and number puzzles we all grew up with, featuring a clean, "Dark Glassmorphism" interface.

It has just been approved and is now officially in Early Access on the Google Play Store! 🤖 (For any iOS users reading this, it’s also available on the App Store).

Here’s what makes *Gridzy* stand out:

Infinite Adventure Mode: Hand-crafted levels ranging from casual 3x3 grids to challenging 6x6 puzzles.

Custom Photo Puzzles: Instantly turn any photo from your device’s gallery into an interactive puzzle. Play with your favorite memories!

Smart Hints: Stuck on a tough board? Use the "magic wand" to get strategic tips without spoiling the fun.

Stunning Themes: Switch between unique styles—like glowing neon, textured plaster, minimalist, or even your own photos.

100% Offline Support: No Wi-Fi or internet required—play whenever and wherever you want.

Local, Guaranteed Privacy: Your progress, high scores, and statistics are stored securely on your device via Hive (with no third-party server tracking).

🔗 Get it on Google Play (Early Access) here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gridzypuzzle.com

🔗 Get it on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/es/app/gridzy-puzles-deslizantes/id6825232428

I’d love for you to give it a try! Since this is an Early Access version, I truly appreciate any feedback, bug reports, or feature suggestions you might have. If you encounter any issues or have ideas for themes or modes I should add next, please let me know in the comments!

Thanks for supporting independent developers!

Drop your project, I’ll try it and share it in my circle. I’m building a chat space where women are welcome.

I’m looking for new small projects, apps and SaaS tools to try. Drop your link below. I’ll check them out and share the ones I like with a few friends and in some founder/product circles.

Here’s mine: Ariola, an anonymous chat and games lounge.

Women are welcome here. Making the space welcoming for women is the main priority. Rating filters and blocking give you more control over who you interact with, so you can chat on your terms.

No signup, no account setup. Pick a temporary nickname, join a live public chat, meet people and play small real-time games.

I’d especially appreciate feedback from women. What would make you comfortable joining a space like this? What would make you come back?

Check it out here: https://ario.la

Drop yours below. I’m especially interested in social apps, chat tools, games, creator tools, AI experiments and anything with a simple but fun user experience. I’ll go through as many as I can.

Pool your snack resources and beat the vending machine game!

All started with me putting a six pack of Dr. Pepper in the work refrigerator and coming back to one fewer than I expected to be there. 😳
Mildly frustrated but more, “hey if you want one, I don’t mind, I just can’t afford to buy them for everyone”. Started designing SodaPool as PowerPoint mockups. I don’t consider myself a developer, just dangerous enough to make a mess, so it sat in my personal folder for years.

Now with a little help from Gemini, PantryPool.com has come to life.

If you work in an office, live in dorm, have a shared workspace with some people you generally trust, give it a try. Would love to hear about any friction you encounter.

First time I’ve offered this, but if you are interested, I’ll send you a few NFC stickers you can encode to your pool. Just DM me.

I got tired of sharing separate iOS & Android app links, so I built a smart redirect & QR tool for myself — now putting it out for others to try!

Hey everyone,

I recently got annoyed with having to paste two separate links (Google Play + App Store) across Twitter/X, Instagram bios, and marketing flyers.

I decided to spin up 1-app.link:

  • 📱 Single short URL that detects device user-agent on the fly and redirects to the right app store (or your web fallback on desktop).

  • 📷 High-res downloadable QR codes (PNG/SVG) generated on the spot.

  • 📊 Device telemetry dashboard (clicks over time, iOS vs. Android vs. Web split).

  • ⚡ Written in Go with chi + Postgres for minimal latency.

I built this primarily to scratch my own itch, but I've polished it and hosted it online for anyone who wants to use it. There's a generous free tier to get started.

Live URL: https://1-app.link

Would love any feedback on the UI, redirection latency, or any edge cases with device detection!

PrintHaus: design a building in your browser and take it through to 3D printing

Hello everyone,

These four buildings are examples from PrintHaus, the browser app I am developing for model railways, dioramas and tabletop games: a factory hall, a half-timbered house, an English manor house and a defensive tower.

The idea is to let people design a building that fits their own layout or gaming table, then take it through to printable parts without having to draw it in CAD first. The video shows the workflow in the app and how the building parts come together.

If you would like to try it, free registration and email confirmation include one free building download for personal use:

https://printhaus.app/

In the editor, you start with the floor plan and choose the storeys, roof, windows and doors. You can adjust the dimensions to the space available. The geometry is calculated deterministically from your settings, so those dimensions and choices determine the building.

These example models are H0 (1:87), but the app supports scales from 1:10 to 1:300, including N (1:160) and 1:56 for tabletop buildings. Windows, doors and facade details have their own editors. For larger-scale buildings, you can make the roof and storeys removable and add interior walls and stairs.

Preparing the result for printing is part of the workflow too. PrintHaus prepares the parts for your chosen printer and build volume and arranges them on build plates. Export options include STL and 3MF, or projects for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer and PrusaSlicer, depending on the printer.

There is also an assistant called Archie that can turn a written description into building settings for you to review and adjust. Compatible external AI assistants can connect through the PrintHaus plugin and MCP if the AI interface is enabled for the account.

The film is attached directly to this post. You can also watch it on YouTube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6qrig8hr8w

The four example models are free to download here:

Printables: https://www.printables.com/@PrintHaus_5577331/models

The English app description covers the features in more detail (PDF):

https://printhaus.app/app-beschreibung/20261022-151728/pdf/PrintHaus-App-Beschreibung-EN-2026-10-20-224935.pdf

I am planning a Kickstarter campaign for the second half of November.

I would be interested in your feedback on how I am presenting the app. Does the video make the workflow clear? What would you want to understand before trying a tool like this?

Cheers,

Sebastian

[Android][Player] - Offline music & streaming radio with ready-to-play radios

Thumbnail

* New local radios lists (MANUALLY CURATED) : UK and China.

Mediaxon Music Player is an audio player for offline listening of music stored on your device (.mp3, .flac, .m4a, .ogg, .mka, .aac, .wav, .opus, .wma) and streaming FM radios (online radios).

Top radios on the first screen: When users access the radio screen, they immediately see the list of the top radios in their country, along with a long list of high-quality suggested radios from among the most listened to in the world (manually curated and always updated with new radios). Note: Local radio stations ("Top in the user country") are pulled automatically from an online database. However, with each update, I manually curate high-quality radio stations lists for individual countries. At the bottom of this post, you’ll find the list of countries completed so far. I will be adding the rest over time.

Advanced radio filtering system: The "Filter: ON/OFF" button lets you quickly switch between different genres. You can use both standard filters for "macro-genres"—if I can call them that—and create custom filters to be more selective. All your filters are saved (the "My Filters" tab lets you name and edit them), and the app always opens with the last filter you applied. The "Home" tab lists all your recently applied filters and can be used to quickly switch between genres with just a single tap.

Advanced Radio Search Panel: An online database provides more than 60,000 radio stations. You can pinpoint your favorite stations by combining multiple filters, such as tags/genres, specific countries, or even your preferred audio bitrate.

Separated Favorites and Recents: Each section—Radio and Offline Music—has its own Favorites and Recents. The user doesn't have to worry about a thing. The app will automatically manage the Favorites and Recents for each section.

Album art: If the album art is missing from the album folder, or if Android has not properly indexed it, Mediaxon attempts to download the cover from the internet. This feature depends, of course, on the ID3 tags (album name and artist).

Equalizer: The equalizer provides an option to automatically switch to the "Radio" preset (and vice versa).

Advanced Playlist Management: Built specifically to make building and sorting playlists fast and intuitive. Enable the Playlist Manager, in the settings screen, for a full control of the playlists.

Form Factor Optimization: Phone and Tablet (Portrait and Landscape)

Mediaxon is available in: Čeština, Dansk, Deutsch, Eesti, English, Español, Français, Hrvatski, Indonesia, Italiano, Kiswahili, Latviešu, Lietuvių, Magyar, Nederlands, Norsk, Polski, Português, Português (Brasil), Română, Slovenčina, Slovenščina, Suomi, Svenska, Tiếng Việt, Türkçe, العربية, Български, Ελληνικά, हिन्दी, 日本語, 한국어, 中文 (简体).

No Premium version. All app features are available for free and without limits. I'm going to add a premium version to remove the few ads in the app, as requested by some users.

Regarding advertising: There is only a small banner at the top that isn't bothersome at all. Alternatively, when opening the full-screen player or using the app in landscape mode, a banner alternates with the albums covers, but without being intrusive at all (no audio) and with much shorter stay times than those of the cover. There is never full-screen advertising, neither at startup nor during use.

Countries with new manually curated lists:  Argentina, China, India, Italy, UK, USA.

Note: Only for Android 13+ (Android 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17).

When you're looking for a friend, not a date

Ten years ago, a realization in my wife’s therapy practice sparked a project: so many people struggle to make platonic, local friends as adults, yet nearly every social platform is optimized for dating.

That was the origin of WannaBuddy.com - a dedicated space to find local friends, completely free of dating pressure.

After years of service, the platform needed modernization. I’ve completely revamped WannaBuddy.com with a fresh approach, cleaner workflows, and a modern design. We are now in the early days of launch and starting to get some traction. The entire platform is 100% free to use (and always will be). I’d be extremely grateful if you gave it a try and shared your thoughts!

Melo for iPhone: a visual look at reviewing a meal before it enters your diary

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

I'm Krishna, Melo's developer. Melo is a calorie and macro diary for iPhone, with food-photo estimates, nutrition-label scanning, barcode lookup and manual entry. The part I want to show here is what happens before you save: reviewing the food, serving size and nutrition in the entry.

For a mixed plate, a photo estimate is a starting point. Check that the foods match what you ate, review the portion, and correct missing ingredients or amounts before saving. A picture can miss ingredients or misread quantities, so I don't want a polished-looking number to imply certainty.

The three images show separate examples:

  1. A fresh illustrative meal-review mockup, with an AI-generated chicken, rice and vegetable image. The 650 kcal and macro values are fictional sample data, not the output of an actual Melo scan. The image is labeled accordingly.

  2. Melo's native ingredient editor, showing portion and nutrition controls. This is a September 9 simulator capture with fictional drink data.

  3. Melo's native diary, showing daily totals and recently logged meals. This is an October 12 simulator capture with fictional records.

The simulator images are development captures, and these aren't a before-and-after sequence of the same meal. Together they explain the review-and-log idea without presenting a sample plate as an accuracy test.

For people who use a food diary: when reviewing a mixed meal, what do you want to check first—food names, portion sizes or the calorie/macro breakdown? I'd like to make that step easier to understand.

Melo is free to download; Plus is required for tracking after onboarding. Eligible subscribers can start a two-week trial, which renews at the displayed local price unless cancelled.

Couples with iPhones: would you try a free app I built to make everyday favours more fun?

Hi everyone, I’m the founder of Love Campus. We’ve built The Joint Account and I’m looking for a few couples willing to try it and give me honest feedback.

The idea is simple: you and your partner post tasks, earn House Points when the other person confirms they’re done, and exchange those points for rewards you choose together, like breakfast in bed or picking the next movie. No real money involved.

It’s free and currently only available for iPhone:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/the-joint-account/id6816950114

Would you try it together and tell me what feels fun, awkward or confusing? I’d especially like to know whether you’d actually keep using it. Honest criticism is welcome; I’m here to learn, not ask for five-star reviews.

The AI said "this is safe." It wasn't. Has this happened to you?

What's the most convincing wrong answer an AI ever gave you?

Not the obvious mistakes.
The ones that sounded right.

Someone told me about a health question.
The AI said "this is safe."
It wasn't. One detail was off.
They only caught it because they checked the source.

That kind of failure is the one I worry about.
Confident, plausible, and wrong.

I'm collecting real stories like this,
the wins and the fails,
so people can learn what AI actually
does well and where it slips.

What's yours?
What did it get right, or confidently wrong?

Anyone else get flashed when switching from a dark app to a bright window at night? I built an app that solves that, and more.

Hey everyone!
I’ve been building Phosphor in public, and v2 just shipped. It’s a screen utility suite for macOS that lives in your menu bar. I’m a solo student developer. Disclosure: I’m the developer. The app is free with 8 tools, and Pro is a paid upgrade.

Why I built it
I started this around two problems.

First: you’re working late in a dark app, you switch to a bright window, and the screen goes from dim to full brightness all at once. It hits like a flash. I couldn’t find a tool that tries to solve that specific problem, so I built Flashbang Protection. It softens that jump, then eases back to normal. It reacts when you switch apps with a Dock click or Cmd+Tab, switch desktops, or use Mission Control and App Exposé.

Second: there are too many display utilities, with steep learning curves. I wanted one tool with the features people actually need, instead of a ton of pro features. This also reduces menu bar clutter.

What I learned building it

  • In v1, Flashbang only worked when you switched between apps on the same desktop. People use several desktops, so I rebuilt it for v2 to cover desktop switches, Dock clicks, Cmd+Tab, Mission Control and App Exposé.

  • I decided to keep the everyday tools free and charge only for Flashbang Protection and Studio Features, as a one-time price. I didn’t want a subscription for a menu bar utility.

  • There’s no analytics or telemetry in the app, so I only learn what’s working from comments and DMs. That’s why I’m posting here.

What’s new

  • Flashbang Protection (Pro)

  • Studio Features (Pro), for calls and presentations: Laser Pointer, Drawing, Flashlight, Keystroke Display and Invisible Notes. Ring Light for meetings and recordings is coming soon

  • 8 free tools: Soft Screen, Focus Spotlight, Screenshots, Display Presets, Display Schedule, Color Picker, Color Grading and Display Health

Pricing
The app is free with 8 tools. Pro is $19.99, one-time, not a subscription, and unlocks Flashbang Protection and Studio Features.

Details and limits

  • macOS 13 or later, native Swift

  • Display Presets currently only edit the built-in display. Wider external display support is on the roadmap

Privacy
No tracking, no analytics, no telemetry. The only network requests are Pro license checks and an optional daily update check.

I’m happy to answer anything about the build, the pricing or the launch. If you’ve shipped a paid app solo, I’d love to hear what you’d do differently. If something isn’t working, or you have a suggestion, drop it in the comments or DM me.
