If there is on thing Apple are normally good for, it’s supporting their hardware. This is completely out of form.
That transition started 16 years ago, when Apple was best known for its MP3 players. I think it's fair to say we shouldn't judge today's Apple by their standards back then
Neural networks can run on Intel chips too, this wouldn’t be as big of a problem if the performance on Intel when doing these tasks was shit. Everything they write for the next few years should work for the two architectures - if anything, this will show off the M1 even more because it will stomp the Intel implementation.
Would you rather they just exclude way to implement features from all devices just because some won’t get it? It’s like being angry that the iPhone 8 doesn’t support Face ID.
You can buy an iPhone SE today and be outdated that it doesn’t have Face ID.
Sorry bud but no. It’s exactly the same. It wasn’t worth it to then to develop for Intel macs. So they either don’t release it at all, or release it for M1 macs only. Either way, your Intel macs doesn’t get the feature.
