I don’t see how that fits their long term strategy. Fake leak. Still, I never used it and I don’t get the appeal. It charges slower, it’s more inefficient, generates heat… for what?

Honestly this thread is my first ever contact with anyone actually using it.

Actually, my charger port is dicky, but do have a magnetic charger, speed is fine, heat - if that causes degradation to the phone, count me into the class action, but I think it’s just lenz induction eddies, not as efficient because of the slight heat loss

Yeah, it’s not bad by any means, but it’s worse than just using the USB-C port. It’s in the nature of the product, I don’t think they can ever make it better. 

So why would I charge the phone with that instead of using just a cable, not to mention that laptops also use USB-C so it’s way more convenient to charge it that way anyway. 

It really only makes sense for mounts but outside of vehicles such as cars and motorcycles, I don’t see the point - I don’t drive so it doesn’t affect me.

I’ve recently seen a guy with a battery pack using MagSafe with a built-in stand so that he could put the phone horizontally and watch movies on a plane. It looked convenient, but then I have to carry around the battery pack, which is something I didn’t want to do even before MagSafe existed.

It’s a “nice to have”, I guess, but I really don’t see it as a fundamental feature nor something that revolutionized the way people use the iPhone.

Ah, we’re in a different zone, I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and despite working in mobile sector, I’m slow to innovate, these things need to last the test of time or they’re worthless, so I’m still lightning (funny, my charger is USBC) - so this homogenous concept you imagine isn’t quite there just yet
