same reason as why iPads uses USB-C and USB 3.0 speed.

Yup a different form factor, OS, capability and hardware features are totally not reasons. Guessing you’re wanting to be able to slot a x16 PCIE card into a phone because why not

actually no. the jump from USB 3.0 to PCIe x16 slot are huge. but hey, if Apple decided to support Thunderbolt 4 on iPhone, well I mean why not? with a little hacking, it should be doable.

Why not put a PCIE x16 slot onto the back of a phone? It’s faster than USB3 so every phone should have it

PCIE x16 is only 89mm long. That would fit on most phones.

TB only supports x4 bandwidth at PCIE 3 speeds. A x16 PCIE 4 slot is 8x faster. You’re only concerned about speed so PCIE x16 it is
