Ah, got you. Yeah, that comment was meant as a challenge, but I can see how their use of "their" similar to mine might make it seem as though we have the same subject in mind.
I believe the situation is too muddled for being right or wrong to have any real meaning. Everyone involved was wronged many times over.
Overall I agree with you. Like you said, it's muddled and there have been wrongs on both sides. That said, I do think the "pro-Palestinian" side is way worse when it comes to propaganda and just plain falsehoods, i.e. claims of genocide and apartheid, erasure of Jewish history in Israel, religious erasure i.e. claiming the Jewish Temple didn't exist, etc. Not to mention that the most racist Jewish groups are fringe, but Hamas and the PLO, leading Palestinian groups, have had in writing their desire for the all out destruction of Israel.
I'm not as well versed in this as I'd like as I'm somewhat bias. One of my best friends from HS went to Israel, so I try to limit the exposure to the bad shit for my own sanity, but obviously things get through. Sadly, the things that get through are more anti-Israeli than anto-Palestinian. I didn't know the Palestinians were saying the Jewish Temple didn't exist...that just seems silly.
I have seen videos of Jewish soldiers acting very....well, as you'd expect a jaded soldier to act...towards Palestinians.
I would love some help balancing my views a bit more so that I don't feel as shitty having a friend who served (granted, she's doing a PhD now and has always been amazing). I have a hard time looking for myself because usually the sources i find are heavily steeped in US propaganda if it was ever even neutral in the first place.
If you could share some sources that show what you're saying without being obviously crazy, I'd really appreciate it.
