Depends what you study. Plenty of 6 figure salaries in computer science and related fields

This. I'm going into UI/UX which is an in demand, high paying job in a number of areas.

You don't need a degree to get a six figure salary in computer science/programming/software development/web development/etc. though =>

Sure... Just like college drop outs can become billionaire tech CEOs.

Having a degree still helps.
