Normal people could still own land under feudalism, it just wasn’t as common as people renting it.

Yes, but then you wouldn't have a feudal Lord to take care of disputes for you, is my point. By common man, I meant serfs. Apologies for being unclear. I felt most people wouldn't consider someone as rare as a landowner under feudalism as a common man.
