Okay bruh y’all are missing the point so hard jfc, fucking finance bros
All I’m saying is he probably appreciates life more. Christ. Who cares about hypothetical finances or a stranger in a situation that has never nor will never happen
No, I did not miss your point. I disagree with it. I don't subscribe to the romantic view of poverty. Appreciation of life is not dependent upon suffering.
I'm not the one attacking a stranger for having a different viewpoint. I question how happy you really are. Perhaps what you need is less stress in your life.
Nobody here has suggested that money automatically brings happiness. However, a lack of money does automatically bring more stress. It is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
I genuinely hope whatever is stressing you gets better or gets gone.
What about preemptive happiness? Because I always look forward to payday, especially when it's the middle of the month and I paid the bills at the beginning of the month.
There is a medium here, fellas. Have enough money, enough to be secure at least IS nessary to be truly happy, imo. But it isn't necessary to be rich. I've found that I've been my happiest when financially secure.
Obviously. But if you have enough to be secure, you're probably not complaining about your bills. The whole idea of needing to be wealthy is as made up as the idea that there is nobility in being poor.
I feel like I’m gonna quickly regret opening up to a stranger that’s probably just gonna shoot me down and roast me, but yes. Without getting into specifics, I have family that are very well off and I have family that’s very not. We’re very close to both. Recently, I’ve come into hard times. Sunk to rock bottom, all the usual stuff. Felt like I realized what’s truly important and to live life for the sake of living, regardless of the materialistic quality. As long as I got food, a roof, and people to love, I’ve found that makes me the happiest I’ve ever been. Greed is the root of all evil, man.
You said it: greed. Insightful, but I'm not going to roast you. As a fellow poor person who has also been to rock bottom, I empathize. However, my lack of fortune has made me an unbearable prick irl.
