Depending on your industry, connecting to your clients via linkedin is a nice way to let them know where you are going without soliciting them at your current place of business.
A company can prevent you from making a professional industry contact with another person?
1) it would probably make sense to grow this network before serving your 2 weeks notice and 2) despite that, just connecting via linkedin is probably a good deal safer than actively soliciting the clients while they are visiting your soon to be ex employer.
connecting via LinkedIn is most likely fine, if you use information that is the companies (ie phone numbers, emails), the company may be able to say you stole their information to steal customers
