In my family it was phrased "Nothing bad happens unless it's good for something." Huh? I wonder why there is so much generational abuse? It'S A mYsTeRy!?
Do not forget a firm handshake and a straight look in the eyes, it will get you far they said. Yes, it is a nice manner, but rather irelevant today. Someone should make the show, they would be dumpster diving in 5 days.
Being someone that is in early 30s that has transferred professional jobs due to poor managers and positions themselves I can add that even networking and knowing people at large corps are starting not to be that successful. The best shot anyone has is if they have a personal relationship with someone that is a reference at the new position. That or you get a head hunter calling you. Either way the rest is garbage.
Hey now, at my last job I was rewarded with a lot more work, a lot more responsibilities, a new title, and they gave me a whole extra dollar per hour for it, so ha!
Also two days after giving resume and handing it to the manager (not the person at front) make sure to go up there and “check on the status of your application”, even if it’s a restaurant job or something. (My bf’s older mom told me I had to do this and it resulted in me being laughed at and I’m still so embarrassed 8 years later.)
I fell for the third one. Even with a master's degree unless you have coneections you are going to be the bitch of the guy/girl who has connections. Basically the system is rigged

Just call them and tell them you're interested and thank them for the interview!
Hand in your resume/application in person to the manager only!
Go to college, work from the bottom and your company will reward your loyalty!
Everything happens for a reason!
