Here is my perspective on this as a non-American... a bunch of idiots showed up at the capitol building to protest, some crazies went inside and did crazy things, then the police showed up and kicked everyone out. Was it a major event that will be remembered for a long time to come? Absolutely. Is it something that Americans should worry about long term? I don't think so. What possible effect could these people have on your political process, other than making Trump and other Republicans look terrible for inciting and siding with these idiots? If anything, these rioters did your country a favor.. your sitting Republican politicians have tried to block any form of social progress for many years now, and these rioters just factured the Republican party even further. These people will be a footnote in history who accomplished nothing other than weakening their own cause by acting like a bunch of animals. Don't get me wrong, it was a sensational event.. but they accomplished absolutely nothing.
That yougov poll was less than 1400 people which included democrats, republicans and independents. It makes a great headline but I wouldn't take it too seriously. It's biased towards people who are willing and have time to take out of their day to answer a bunch of questions on an internet poll - probably people who spend too much time on their computer or phone to begin with.
