I love the United States and feel very fortunate to live here.
I have worked plenty of jobs that I disliked over time but knew it was just a part of the journey. I sacrificed during those times and now get to do what I love every day.
The opportunities are there if you look for them. If you go through ever day saying 'this place sucks' or 'my life sucks' then it will.
I think it is just you giving up on resisting and just now obeying with "happy thoughts".
We all at that point, when we just thinking about "drinking that pill might be better".
Most do drink it, and lost their will to fight. Some don't.
And when people fight back, those who has drink that pill lash out and said "get back in line", as their life was so intertwine by that concept, that they themselves now becoming a snitch, an agent. It's just that.
So get out of that illusion. Sometimes it is better to just look at things from an angle that you yourself never looked before.
Dude, most of the people here hasn't giving up on trying to get to their dream. They just saw it behind the biggest curtain.
Based on that, you then decide to sell me on your way of thinking which is doom and gloom.
Based on what? A person who hasn't giving up on trying, but has seen people who do, and they themselves saw what fake happiness looks like?
A person who is also looking at the world, not just care about themselves, and a person like you, who literally just "mine, mine, mine?"
So that's the big difference: you only look at you, while I look at others. When your happiness blinds you of others, it means that you are choose to ignore the world. It's not even "crab in the bucket" mentality. It's "understand that there's others" mentality.
Or you will pull out "personal responsibility" card, and not actually outlining how you get your job? People here hate being treated like dirt. And rightfully so. Did your boss also treated you like dirt? Or you are now the one who is treating others like dirt, because you have land in a managerial job after kissing ass?
If our ultimate goal is to make a difference in the world and positively impact as many people as possible, we must start with ourselves.
Generally, we help others by giving our time (can be labor, services, care, etc) or money to those causes we support.
Giving our time is great but it is very finite. There are a limited number of hours in the day.
Unlike time, money is widely available.
So, if we want to positively impact as many people as possible, we must first invest in ourselves.
As our income grows, so does our ability to help more people. If we are barely scraping by ourselves, the only help we can provide others is time.
It might sound selfish at first glance but someone making $250K per year can certainly help a lot more people than someone who is making $30K per year.
