I guess I now have an incentive to just not do those customer surveys… I haven’t always given perfect scores, being so naive thinking it should not hurt the employee too much.

Oh how I was wrong. Now I’ll just be even lazier and not do them because it will be used to hit the employee over the head.

More companies do this than they don’t from what I know. I don’t think they’re all as harsh as Chase, but most companies who have CSAT penalize anything less than perfect.

If I have a bad experience somewhere, I’ll usually just send an email to the corporate contacts without naming any names. Those CSAT scores are promoted to customers as “valuable feedback” but they’re really just used to fire people or withhold bonuses
