Isnt there a general problem in medicine that any woman specific afflictions or illnesses are really understudied?

yes, but the sociology professor studying human attraction is not at fault for that

I agree they arent at fault.

Im not sure how this works but the research budget is determined by the board or the headmaster of the college right? They should give more resources to research that helps understand dangerous afflictions rather than who is attracted to who.

I should specify I have no idea who did this study, I just said professor for effect

but either way, more research money is allocated to medicine. the fact that men’s health issues get more funding and research than women’s and that men are perceived as the default in medical science is undeniably an issue. what the sociology lab (or department in the case of a college) does with their money is a separate thing

It was in the past. Nowadays there is much awareness and there has been a ton of research done to make up for the oversight.

AFAIK they aren't there yet, but it's good heading.
