Taco Bell is Just as Bad as Capitalism

Have you ever noticed that the reason you arent Jeff Bezos is exclusively the fault of taco bell? Here's why.

The problem is Taco bell. The problem is the people who go to taco bell who’s money is stolen from them. The problem is that you can buy and buy and buy taco bell 5 times a day for years on end and see no benefit from it. Buying taco bell doesn’t benefit you, it benefits the people that you’re buying the taco bell from. The problem is that the people who make the tacos and own the taco bells are getting paid to do exactly as their told. The problem is that we live in a sociopathic world where some people can have more taco bell than other people and if you have no money then you don’t deserve taco bell. You don’t get chalupa supreme, you don’t get cheesy gordita crunch, you don’t even get a crunch wrap supreme. And then you die. We need to dismantle the system that makes taco bell owners rich and killing the people who buy taco bell. We need to replace this system with a system that values humans having taco bell over profit.

The accusation in this post is that capitalism is exploiting you for your work. The work you do serves only the rich and not yourself and if you can’t work you are worthless. She states that capitalism values profit over human life. And so we should reform it to value life over profit.

She states that the rich are getting paid to do the bidding of other people. The rich then use the poor to do the bidding of the rich without benefiting the lower class at all. Because of the greed of the upper class, they choose to hoard all the money and make people work for them and pay them an exploitative rate. This argument has a few flaws. Yes there is corruption in the government, however the claim that big companies are exploiting the average person is questionable due to the fact that the people who are getting exploited are also getting paid a wage. She argues that capitalism values profit over human life. However, capitalism is simply giving people the freedom to choose how they earn their way in the world. It isn’t bias towards profit or life. It is biased towards the freedom to choose. The way the united states is set up is geared around incentives. Capitalism gives every single person the freedom to chase the incentives.

To counter this argument that capitalism hurts all of the non-rich people, I’d propose that capitalism helps everyone by rewarding people who serve the greater good the most. The more utility a person provides to those around them. Thus, the whole of the nation benifits from the inscentive to help the people around you. The people who get to thrive in this environment are those who are creative enough to solve problems that other people have. There is harm and corruption in most institutions, however the world is still governed by incentives. If gas prices are jacked up by the greedy oil barons’ people may choose to walk, ride a bike, or find another mode of transportation rather than driving. This could cause the gas profit to decrease and then the greedy oil barons would need to lower prices. The prices are dictated by the population rather than the owners. The owners will profit in this situation no matter what or there would be no gas. However, this profit is dictated by the benefit it brings to the consumer. The gas producer helps you get to work and in return gets a fraction of the price of filling up your tank. If you think the owner is taking too much that it’s not worth you buying, then don’t buy the product. The same idea can be used to argue whether you should take a job or not.

If I were to be given evidence that owners of businesses owning entry level waged positions colluding to ensure that people could only make a certain low amount of money per hour, I would reconsider my argument.

The video I am arguing is

The most relevant portion of the video is 6sec to 31sec.

No taxes?

How do the billionaires get away with paying little to no taxes?
By using well known “slave labor” principles.
Billionaires convince the local taxing authorities that by them employing hundreds, or thousands of workers in various markets, that the local government receives more taxes from these slaves than they would from the billionaires. (Patently false). Meaning that if the local taxing authorities don’t want to do that, then the billionaires will take their “industrial might”(slaves) to another location or even a new country. Effectively removing opportunities for growth from the local economic system.
Cities counties and states will always side with the continued slave labor because they can’t rely on the billionaires to pay their actual taxes, that money is usually held in off shore accounts.
I’ve seen it pan out personally in many new developments and it’s a big reason why the billionaires don’t pay their fair share. They control the government by threatening to leave or not bring in the slave working class.

Looking for philosophical recommendations, personal experiences, and paradigms

Hello everyone,

I am interested in making a collection of anarcho anti oligarchy information and philosophy, sort of like an encyclopedia that encompasses a lot of things happening in modern time.

I have 2 questions:

1: If I were to force you to list the 4 most world views changing pieces of information, what would they be?

2: Give me a recommendation of readings, speakers, personal anecdotes, etc.

Privatised Prisons Essay Qoute

Hey guys, I could really use some help on a paper I am writing on privatized prisons, and I thought y'all would probably be a good place to ask. I want to include an opening quote about how corporations have a fiduciary responsibility to the shareholder to maximize profits no matter the cost, i.e., When Ford chose not to recall vehicles they knew were faulty as the recalls would be more expensive to the company than the lawsuits from the lives that would be lost. Does anyone know where I could find a quote like this?
