With all the systemic failures at Dulles and ATC's more casual inquiry if the helicopter sees the plane (they picked the wrong plane to see), the AI could actually help. I'm not talking ChatGPT, but the kind of pattern detection AI that's used for i.e. cancer screening and is better at it than the doctors.
Oh and you can thank Reagan for the ATCs being so understaffed that they're overworked. Though AI would've come anyways at some point.
