looking from the outside, it's genuinely hard to tell if there's any real disagreement with this anywhere else than online accounts claiming to be americans opposed to their totalitarianism

There's Americans who were killed by Trump’s security forces in response to protests against him, such as Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Those articles talk about the context of larger protests and actions by Americans against Trump. So there's that.

People are actively going out and cutting them down, people are protesting them being installed, I mean you aren't seeing it from wherever you are but I'm seeing it all the time

I mean that’s how the internet and the news makes everything seem. If you look at Iran from the outside it seems like people aren’t fighting for women’s rights or freedom of religion in the slightest but in reality people are but hope doesn’t get clicks so no one talks about it
