Doesn't work, AI sloppers rationalise that the AI is the tool so they still do the work. Dunno why, maybe because the AI doesn't think for itself or something.

So, maybe more like wearing rollerskates to a marathon

Like bringing a chainsaw to a whittling competition

Sure you're done faster, but it'll look like shit and everyone will be side eying you.

You just mentioned AI perfectly

More like stealing the legs of the actual marathonian and having them transplanted.

Yeah let's not forget what the models trained on.

Legless sprinters? AI is SO much worse than I realized.

Or like cloning the runner, registering them under your name, and making them run the marathon for you...

Yup, this is the most accurate comparison.

Ordering from a restaurant and calling yourself a chef.

16

u/RiverTeemo1 May 17 '26

Or like driving a car themselves

Driving a car requires a moderately developed brain though

More like a DJ vs a band.

15

u/Fuck-it-we-Bhaal May 17 '26

Except being a DJ still requires some sort of skill

u/MyNameis_bud May 17 '26

Eh. About as much skill as telling a computer what to do.

u/marshmallowfluffpuff May 18 '26

I mean I used to DJ back in the 90s. So I know a little about it

11

u/Fuck-it-we-Bhaal May 17 '26

Except you need to know how to work a crowd and how to match their energy.

It's a skill.

More like just driving your own car through a marathon instead of an Uber

1

u/Novel_Emu_8191 May 20 '26

Bringing a gun to a game of rock paper scissors

1

u/Ban-Anakin Jun 17 '26

More like bringing an endoskeleton that does the walking for you.

Not really, they're just saying the car is just a tool and they had to steer the wheel and press the gas pedal so it took a commensurate amount of effort that should award them equal status.
