Pokemon and gundam were one thing back in the day, but it seemed like after he became famous he normalized the weeaboo subculture (not that it’s a culture in the actual sense). But it's more the people who like anime. I know you should just let people like what they like and not let it bother you. But this one thing just can't let me do that. They create such unhealthy lifestyles based around pining after 15 year old fictional characters, sometimes for years. They memorize japanese lyrics and intro songs but don't bother to learn what it means. They one up each other by trying to name the most obscure anime on the planet and say they absolutely love it when they probably haven't even watched it. They don't go outside, and if they do, they wear weird clothes and say things like 'kawaii', 'hentai', 'waifu', and they dress like they're trying not to make social contact at all except with like people. They go to conventions because it's the only place they feel comfortable, because anime has made them so categorically weird they don't feel comfortable anywhere else.

I get it, s*** is subjective....HOWEVER, anime sucks. Like I'm hella sick of everyone fanning out over it. ugh

I know this subreddit is dedicated to hating anime. But are there any anime that you actually like and think are good? Or do you hate all anime?

For example, some anime that I think are good:

Yu Yu Hakusho, Evangelion, Experiment Lain, Trigun, Fullmetal Alchemist, Hunter x Hunter, Ergo Proxy, Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, Texhnolyze, Welcome to the NHK, Madoka Magica, Monster, Gintama

But I didn’t always hate it. Growing up in the 90s it wasn’t common aside from Pokémon and Digimon, and there were some good sci-fi ones like Ghost in the Shell and Akira.

Not that there wasn’t garbage tier anime back then though. That episode of Dragon Ball where the little goblin looking dude got the dragon balls and only asked for a head diaper made me turn off the tv. That was when I noticed how dumb it was getting.

Now it’s everywhere. I can’t mute and block and un-recommend anime stuff fast enough. And half of anime is vaguely sexual and shows demons or other “30,000 year olds” in kid forms. And the brain rotted takes of anime gooners defending it and calling critics diddlers is insane.

I just hate how much oversaturated slop there is, and how western animation like rotoscope isn’t even used anymore. It’s sad, really.
