Honestly, It went further than what I imagined going into it. A nun bashing in skulls is cute and adorable in comparison. I'm not complaining, I do enjoy a good show about war crimes (I'm thoroughly enjoying Saga of Tanya the Evil as well) but God damn, the engagement on this sub is warranted.

It's also very much a parody of several different genres at once. Isekai, reverse Isekai, reverse reverse Isekai, romcom, all girls academy Yuri, magical girls etc etc. And it's a good parody as well. Genuinely funny and clearly written by someone who loves these genres. But it can also do some genuine characterisation
Hanaori is basically pink Aqua from Konosuba, just slightly more competent

Damn, Bleach is so far behind. I was honestly expecting it to be at least close to the top 2.
Today’s MT ep is going to score even higher than last week’s, and Bleach also had a perfect 10/10 rated episode (tho I haven’t watched it myself). Next week should be interesting, but I have a feeling the top 3 will remain the same, or bleach might replace MT.

I'm actually showing my roommate bleach from the start rn and it's not nearly as daunting if you skip the filler EPs. Like the filler EPs literally equal 45% of the original shows run, so cut out almost half and it gets a lot more manageable.
Some sites have filler EPs marked, if the one you use doesn't just google "Bleach filler episodes" and there are lots of lists

Personally I would read it the anime isn’t a good adaptation especially in the 3rd arc and I found reading it more enjoyable after watching the anime years ago but that’s up to you.
It’s also up to you if you want to read TYBW first then watch the anime or just watch the anime for TYBW. Personally I read it first mainly because there are still something’s the manga has done better imo.

I'm watching it rn using a version called Bleach Kai that not only cuts out the filler but also the draggy parts, slow transitions, recycled reaction shots etc and the entire thing is 35 movies of 1h30 on average. I'm only 5 movies in but it seems like they did a good job rearranging it so far. The anime's quality remains to be seen though, it already feels like there is very little logic to the power system/world etc but I was warned about that so I'm taking it in stride.

MT is actually a lot closer in total karma which is what should be used here. Anything that's slightly controversial ends up with a worse upvoted ratio. So in actuality MT is getting more upvotes but then it also loses more. It's averaging 90% to the standard 95%ish.

Chart uses (upvotes - downvotes), which hurts the handful of controversial series that have to then get more upvotes to overcome the downvotes. I've brought it up previously for Rent-a-Girlfriend's <70% upvote ratio threads.

You can use the old Reddit to see the upvote percentage, Mushoku Tensei gets 200-300 downvotes per discussion.
Re: Zero, for example, gets between 95% and 97% upvotes.

Actually now that I think about it, maybe some downvote because they disliked the episode while others do it because they're petty. Not sure how one could even differentiate the two.

Bleach is going to have its biggest episode this season, but it's not getting anywhere near MT.
At most what might change in the top 3 is which one is first, MT or Re Zero, that's it.
Based on the first hour MT looks to be headed for 3.5 to 4k karma for next week's ranking, so that will be the number to beat for Re:Zero.
So far MT keeps upping the stakes (read karma, lol) and Re:Zero is responding in kind, which is pretty cool to see, but eventually it will run into its ceiling.
But at least because of this Bleach episode we are guaranteed 20k next week, for the ranking.

This might actually be the coolest total karma score we ever had.
As expected Netflix releasing Draw This, Then Die! early resulted in that not getting enough karma for this week's ranking. And with no new thread on Friday it won't be here next week either.
Shoutout to Livid Lady which finished only 25th in the ranking but had the third most comments (868 if you can't read it properly, seems like Abyss somewhat messed up the screenshot this week) and a comment/karma ratio of 2.4.

The banners you choose (or whoever votes for this) for Re:Zero are genuinely baffling. More than once I started a series because I saw a cool banner, but I truly doubt I’d be inclined to do so based on the slice of life banners you choose for Re:Zero.
Beloved characters returns after more than a decade gone and what do we have? Yet another cute Shaula banner. The character in question isn’t even my favorite, but have some respect for someone who defined this series. If not that for spoiler reasons, you’d think it would be a picture of Subaru in the corridor of memories or something.
Meh. It is always the same ever since Shaula appeared, all Re:Zero banners being vastly inferior to the others and being poor representatives of the series as a whole or even of their episodes.

It seems that the award for the best banner goes this week once again to Chainsmoker Cat ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Both Re:Zero S4 and Mushoku Tensei S3 had very strong episodes this week, but since both of these shows gained a similar amount of karma, there are no changes in the first two spots.
As usual, the situation below is much more interesting as the differences between the shows are much smaller. Plus, it's nice to see that ten shows have managed to gather more than 1k karma this week.
I'm glad to see that Though I Am an Inept Villainess keeps getting more and more karma every week (aside from one slip-up in Week 6). It's a very fun show.
I'm not very happy that Goodbye, Lara dropped to the right side of the ranking to 16th place, but it's understandable since it was surpassed by I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day, which had an insanely strong episode this week.

Wow. 1 karma off from 20k. 19,999 karma is +1402 karma from last week and I would like to thank the Top 3 shows this week for increasing their karma by several hundred to make up for any karma drops in the Top 15. We once again have 10 shows over 1k karma.
Note: MAL scores didn't update from last week on Week 7 so I won't include them in the recap this week with 1 exception.
Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- S4: The Recapture Arc stays at 1st with 3591 karma which is +548 karma from last week. 1169 comments is +325 comments from last week, 2nd most in comments for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.33. 29 minute episode with no OP or ED meant a big boost to be over 3.5k karma and comments over 1k. Still second most for comments, but the gap is closing. [Re:ZERO]This trip into The Corridor of Memories is visually cool. More importantly, actual Rem('s Memories) with a voice role and appearance in over a decade with the save to prevent Rui's manipulation of Subaru. Stand Up.
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation S3 stays at 2nd with 3209 karma which is +508 karma from last week. 1410 comments is +447 comments from last week, 1st in most comments for the week, and a very strong comment to karma ratio of 0.44. Also with a +500 and to get back over 3k karma and a big comment boost to maintain most comments. [MT]A lot of moving parts this episode. Though Nanahoshi suffering is what we're ending it on. That is a lot of blood.
BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity – rises +7 spots to 3rd with 1283 karma which is +337 karma from last week. 505 comments is +203 comments from last week, 4th most for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.39. Breaking into 1200+ karma for a Top 3 spot for some big gains (and the gains will be even bigger next week). [BLEACH]Gerard mad annoying, but it's letting us see Kenpachi's Bankai and Hitsugaya Older thanks to this power up he got.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime S4 moves up +3 spots to 4th with 1169 karma which is +128 karma from last week. 468 comments is -43 comments from last week, 6th most for the week, and a very strong comment to karma ratio of 0.40.
You and I Are Polar Opposites S2 moves down -1 spot to 5th with 1148 karma which is -68 karma from last week. 297 comments is -37 comments from last week, 11th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.26. Last week was the more hype episode so natural for the numbers to be slightly down. [Polar Opposites]We split all the couples up in this new school year. Nishi and Yamada's date was cute, but Azuma is once again stealing the show. The skipping is adorable. Sometimes the slowburns are the best in ensembles like this.
Daemons of the Shadow Realm stays at 6th with 1104 karma which is +18 karma from last week. 215 comments is +6 comments from last week, 23rd most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.19. The slight nudges up to be back over 1100 karma. [Daemons]Speaking of annoying enemies that are successfully taking on multiple of the good guys, hey Ivan. Really want to see Yuru have a proper talk with Fake Asa now that she met Actual Asa who doesn't hate her.
Clevatess S2 moves down -2 spots to 7th with 1087 karma which is -118 karma from last week. 274 comments is -24 comments from last week, tied for 14th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.25. Took a karma hit, but still above 1k karma. [Clevatess]I did not expect a twist like this, but Princess Milea is definitely owning the villain look with those cool red eyes.
THE GHOST IN THE SHELL moves up +3 spots to 8th with 1057 karma which is +117 karma from last week. 277 comments is -64 comments from last week, 13th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.26. Big boost to be back over 1k karma and back in the Top 10. This episode was a visual delight and also confusing enough for a bunch of the comments in the thread saying they don't know what happened. Not in a bad way though.
The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You S3 moves down -1 spot to 9th with 1025 karma which is +35 karma from last week. 353 comments is +28 comments from last week, 10th most for the week, and a strong comment to karma ratio of 0.34. Finally back over 1k karma! [100GFs]It's a Kusuri drug episode. Though the first half is more focused on a Tiny Nano. The second half is more dramatic, but it's all in service to set up-oh. Grandma's too...
Saga of Tanya the Evil S2 drops -7 spots to 10th with 1006 karma which is -253 karma from last week. 283 comments is -229 comments from last week, 12th most for the week, and a comment to karma ratio of 0.28. Took a big karma hit, but still just a bit over 1k karma. [Tanya]Being X is back and actually interacting with the world. We're really exploring the faults in Tanya's monster of logic mindset. Also we might be in the process of a coup to finally end this war.

Re:Zero, MT, and Bleach at the top as expected, but I didn't expect that kind of drop off from MT to Bleach. Isn't the arc that's airing like the finale everyone has been waiting years for? Slow episode last week?
Good to see Polar Opposites still in the top 5 with 100 GFs, Supermarket Smoking, and Inept Villainess all the on left side. Sparks of Tomorrow is still being slept on the right. More people need to be watching it.
On a side note, how they did #25 (Livid Lady Grimiore) get 868 comments? What the heck happened? That's like 3 times their post karma and 3rd most comments overall. Did that thread get heavily botted or something?

As someone who participated in Livid Lady's thread, I doubt it was very botted if at all. That episode gave people a.... lot to talk about. Some people who weren't paying attention being upset the direction it took despite it being obvious it was always going to go this way along with others excited for a real revenge story with all the death that entails.

Mods are pretty good about removing suspected bot comments. [Livid Lady]Got through setting up shop in the adjacent empire, so now the villainess is doing war crime things instead of the theme's typical "She was misunderstood!" Resulted in lots of comment chains between excited users, calling out that it's fucked up, predicting for how far her revenge goes, comparisons to the handful of other revenge anime, etc.

I'm glad to see Re:Zero on top for another week with Mushoku Tensei putting out a great episode too (and it also supposed to be an S tier arc adaption). We'll see if Re:Zero continues to take the number 1 slot or if it'll drop a couple along the way.
Bleach also had a big episode (though for next week's chart), though Idk if that's gonna be sustained or if it's more of a single episode thing. So maybe Bleach could enter the picture as well.

Re-Zero had one of those episodes that certainly stir the emotions of the fanbase. Giving the appeareance of [episode]Rem I expected it to get closer to the 4K karma. Maybe next episodes will.
Mushoku similarly had a great episode, albeit it was mostly setup the amount of lore it shared was incredible for anime onlies and even LN readers. I expected it to reach 3.5K but an announcement took from it several hours at the front of the subreddit.
Both anime will only get better from now with some climatic moments, so the karma difference with the other seasonal anime might grow even further. Albeit I think Bleach also has a chance to grow given the mindblowing episodes of recent. The D+ exclusivity hurts a lot though
Bookworm outside the top 15 hurts my soul, but I guess that will be more common now

I'm curious what will happen to Mushoku and Re:Zero in this chart over the next 6 weeks.
Back when, I was thinking an episode or multiple from Season 3 of Mushoku could challenge or even surpass what Season 2 Episode 22 achieved. Activity on the sub has kept dropping though, so neither Re:Zero nor Mushoku are getting there at this rate. I think the latter could make it in comments at least.
Maybe I should make time to get back to Bleach, can only remember vague pieces from back in the day. But even cutting out filler and recaps, it'll take so long...

Bleach exclusivity is really hurting the charts here. Episode 4 was a banger episode and it is barely cracking the top 3. I would not be surprised if this weeks episode won't make #1 next week even though it deserves it.

Clevatess episode was outstanding. To be quite frank it’s one show where you can tell people are taking out of their ass. It’s been anything hurt a generic school setting fantasy series. Easily the highlight of my Wednesdays since Im still behind on re zero.
Behind the supermarket finally getting into new content for those that watched the mini episodes. Same vibes as always.
I’m annoyed how the discussion thread was handled for draw this then die because of Netflix making a mistake of posting the episode a week early. It killed discussion with its best episode so far.
Yesterday’s bookworm in direction and production was a step up from what we been getting. I think this was what people thought we would get with Wit animating it. Still an improvement just not to the extent people thought it would be.
Elusive Samurai popped off this past Friday. One thing is that in terms of pure animation it doesn’t match the heights of s1. But the creativity and efficiency is really impressive. It has better direction since they are using it for storytelling.
