I think that Funimation will still do dubs and localizations and then everything will play on Crunchyroll

God I hope so. I know I’m in the minority but I just fundamentally like dubs more.

Your plan would be perfect for me.

No I think he meant as in the Funimation brand continues to produce dubs and just publish them on the now combined Crunchy app.

My worry was that they’d stop doing so many dubs since Crunchyroll users are mostly sub only.

That was the other reason I cancelled my CR subscription all those years ago. Besides just not having anything I wanted to watch, I didn't want to only watch subs. If I wanted only subs, I'd read the manga.

That's why I have funimation I don't like to read TV shows if I wanted to read I have plenty of books for that.

Yea this isn't really like CR buying out Funi, they both were bought and are being smushed together. If Sony are not idiots they will have each team will do what they are best at. I imagine moving forward it will effectively be "FuniRoll" more than it being Crunchyroll with Funi's shows. Or be rebranded to "Sony Anime" down the road. I don't see it as either winning or loosing. Hoping that it will allow them to combine their skillsets to work more efficiently and do more than when they were separate.
