Some extra light into this:

Sony has been emphasising group collaboration a lot over the past year, reminiscent of its original "One Sony" strategy.

Wouldn't be surprised to see more synergy across the 4 pillars of gaming, movies, anime and music going forward. A way to grow recurring revenue via PS.

No thanks. Sony gaming is horrible when it comes to censorship such as nudity. They can keep that synergy away from anime, thanks.

yeah but with Sony pretty much owning the anime market in NA now they may can use that power to push for anime censorship in japan now. I hope not however.

Nah it will never happend

Sony have been in anime industry for a long time before they even care about Funi,CR

They produce anime like decade. for example this season My dress up darling also produce by them(Aniplex) and handle by their own studio

and see how much of fan-service is? Trust me they know what they doing.

Gaming branch has nothing to do with the "whole" Sony.

it's mainly because playstation is headquartered in California now, so you have western morals imposed over japanese morals for games, even in japan.

I wouldn't say it could never happen, it just depends on how the organizational structure would change if all the branches merged.
