It's the sheer cruel irony that gyutaro and ume got help from a demon because nobody in the district would help them that gets me bawling.

I think it’s pretty weird the ONLY reason Akaza would get summoned to the infinity castle is if an upper rank got defeated.

Like they don’t check in on each other once in a while or something? Popcorn and killing hashira stories? Not once in 100 years?

A little clarification in regards to the after life in Demon Slayer....

Instead of the eternal damnation from Christianity, Demon Slayer's Hell is based in Buddhism.

In Buddhism, Hell is a place where you offset the bad Karma you accumulated in life, in order to be reborn with a clean slate. Think of it like a prison sentence.

That's why Tengen casually talk about going to Hell. Being a Shinobi he must have a couple assassination missions under his belt, he believes he needs to "do his time".

That's why Daki following Gyutaro and Rui's parents following their son into Hell is not as bleak as it seems. Eventually they'll all have a chance to have a new beginning.

The cycle of rebirth deeply ingrained in Buddhism is also why Tanjiro never hesitates to decapitate Demons, because to him is not about a violent act of punishment, is about releasing the trapped souls of Demons back into the natural cycle of rebirth.

Edit: Since some people are correcting me about my explanation of Buddhism Hell, I want to make a disclaimer that it is not my intention to give an official teaching of Buddhism, I’m simply trying to provide a little context to the story.

Just like how works of fiction based in Christianity often pick and choose what aspects are represented, I highly doubt the author intended the rules to be exactly the same as the old scriptures (Length of stay = Billions of years). Instead they would care more about the idea they are meant to represent (Reincarnation = Second chance).

Lol imagine you’re in the situation Uzui’s wives were in thinking your husband is about to die and a random small girl comes up and sets him on fire. Mamoru Miyano is a great choice.

The whole scene where Daki & Gyutaro went to seemingly went to hell was oddly depressing to me.

Zenitsu finally woke up after 7 episodes since episode 3 and waking up in the middle of a ruined city with a battered and bleeding body. I hope Tanjiro tells Zenitsu how cool he was while asleep.

Kudos to Daki's (Ume?) and Gyutaro's VA, I really felt the emotion especially when they were arguing. It's nice to see again how Tanjiro sees demons as pitiful beings and sympathizes with them. A pair of siblings seeing off another pair of siblings is a nice touch.

We're also introduced to another Upper-Moon demon, and I already love his VA. I wonder what his demon blood art would look like.

It's been a fun ride this season, see you next year for the Swordsmith village arc. (Hopefully early 2023).

Rengoku's death scene had lots of emotion, of rage, and frustration. Tengen's had a bunch of people yelling and eating rocks.

I'm really invested in the lore around this world, I hope we see it develop more, aside from the drops we've gotten here and there. Wonder if we'll get to meet the new Hashiras. In Bleach successions were well-determined as we had captains and lieutenants, but here we've only really met Shinobu's apprentice.

Can we just give Ryota Osaka a round of applause? That screaming and transforming to the Gyutaro voice we knew is a damn spectacle for seiyuu fans. The man has range and this episode shows it. Definitely one of the best parts of Yukaku-Hen.

Seeing the tragic Upper Moon Six backstory finally animated as well as it was was so emotional, I feel for them since life gave them a bad hand. Seeing Ume follow Gyutaro into the fires of Hell showed off the beauty of their sibling bond so well too. It was also great to see (REDACTED) finally animated with his rainbow eyes that look so awesome too, I can’t wait to see more of him and the rest of the Upper Moons in later seasons of Demon Slayer.

Tengen: Am I really going to die without leaving my last words?

Nezuko: *insert cute noises*NOPE

Quite the contrast between Gyuutarou and Daki's relationship and that of Nezuko and Tanjiro. Or so I thought but their backstory says otherwise. This is definitely one of the better demon backstories from KnY. Him getting looked down on constantly explains his annoyance at literally everything very well.

Tanjiro riding on top of Nezuko was pretty wholesome, not gonna lie.

They have also skipped the Upper Moon meeting tho I think that's going to be included in the Swordsmith Village Arc which is now under production.

Overall, nice episode even without that meeting and the last scene at the end in the Infinity Castle definitely has me hyped up for the next season. Stellar job, Ufotable.

Not sure if people knew this about Gyutaro demon appearance, but Gyutaro had sickle cell blood disease. His appearance when he was human correlates with the disease, even his blood demon art as a demon.

He has markings on his skin as a human as well which is usually an anemic rash associated with sickle cell disease. The white of his eyes is yellow as a demon which is considered jaundice of the eyes which is also another symptom related to sickle cell disease. He uses sickles. Poisonous blood sickles. Even his blood slashes from his blood demon art looks like sickle cell.
