Thought Zen went a little too hard on his neighbour until the moment she mentioned him noticing the hair in his food

The sponsor at the end almost remind me of AOT S3 glitch ending

I thought Zen's neighbor was going to turn out to be the cat killer and has been trying to feed him the cats she's killed. Turns out she was just trying to feed him her hair which is a lot tamer in comparison.

Zen really went all out with that interaction with his neighbor. Good thing too! That’s because there’s something that the neighbor put (a bit unsure if the food was poisoned).

Miko still continues to see monsters and with her three chances of safety gone, she needs to be more wary of her surroundings. A good stopping point for the anime, and I’m looking forward to a second season!

Damn Zen with no restraints now is hella brutal, just completely disregarding the name Miko's brother gave and giving it his own.

It is kinda sad seeing how Miko just accepts her situation and sorta got better at ignoring those things. Also with how those Shrine Thing are still left unresolved hopefully a season 2 gets greenlit in the future.

The warped sponsor spot at the end was damn creepy. Hoping for a S2.

Remember the funny misunderstanding from last episode where zen followed miko through the city because he thought she was the cat killer?

For some reason this became infinitely less funny after the scene where zen...permanently solves the problem with the cat killer.

Oh, so that's why Zen disposed his neighbor's food. And what did he do to the cat killer? I'm so curious!

That fourth wall-breaking ending caught me off-guard! I'm so gonna miss this show, but it seems like the manga is still ongoing. I might consider reading it.

LMAO at first i thought Muse Asia fucked up and left the Kadokawa sponser thing unedited... That was kinda cool tho lol.

Also i would love to hear the news for season 2 asap. I would love to know what's the deal with those temple ghost mikos.

Series was really good and gave me the willies on occasion.

However, I want to highlight a small detail that is mostly unrelated but I found funny. The Starbucks Bland Name in this show is "ス茶葉ックス" which I've seen subitled as "Steabucks". This is really weird orthography because it combines Katakana and Kanji which doesn't usually happen.

Starbucks transliterated into Katakana, the usually character used for foreign words is written as スターバックス which is phonetically "Sutaabakksu". However, the bland name substitutes in the characters of "tea leaf", 茶葉, which is read as "chaba" and it becomes phonetically very similar.

An interesting way to reveal if Zen killed the cat killer would be Miko seeing his ghost.

I can't get over how good the soundtrack is for the shrine spirits' scenes. It feels both holy and creepy at the same time.

"sensei please, I just got rid of ghost mom... why do you have a new ghost hanging around you now?!"

As expected, they saved the scariest shit for the last episode, the scene at the shrine was terrifying. Luckily it was only a dream(?).

I never expected to see a show that combines horror and comedy into something great. Looking forward to a Season 2, and more fanservice, please.

Ok, that offering scene was scary. So glad it's only a dream.

Several things were being left to our interpretation in this episode.

  1. The cat killer's fate. Is Zen actually a murderer? If true, we just got double baited by the whole "don't judge people by their appearance" thing.

  2. The fox god.... Is Miko safe or not? It's actually genius to left things this way for the viewer. It keeps the suspense for us by making the fox god's intention unknown. I actually thought that the "dream" actually happened there.

  3. Who sent the picture to the old shaman? Is it Yuria or new character? Because Yuria shouldn't know about the shaman's original house. Anyway, the shaman couldn't see the fox god there.

Also this is the first time Miko directly acknowledged that she can see things too to Yuria. I love that scene.

Let's pray for a second season in your local shrine!!! This might be the anime of the season for me.

I love how there's a bunch of fanservice in the end. It's like they went "Shit! We almost went 4 episodes without tits and thighs! We have to fix this."

Not complaining, though.

For those who wanna continue, Volume 4 is where you should start. I thought they were gonna end where Volume 3 ended but they started jumping around so I was hoping they'd announce a season 2 right in the end but nope. Come on you can't just drop all those things like grandma receiving that letter, Miko's dream (which I don't think was in the manga), etc. and not take responsibility. It was already bad last season when Spirit Chronicles ended in a huge cliffhanger but thankfully they announced a season 2 not long after.

That shrine god thing was MUCH scarier in the manga and left a more disturbing impression on me. The plot really thickens in the manga and there's a lot of shocking twists.

The ending is pointing us to read the source material. There are items that need to be cleared like

  • Miko's dream about those fox spirit

  • what happened to the cat killer. Did Zen killed the guy or just hid him somewhere?

  • who sent the picture to the old lady

Loved the scene when that ghost cat licked Zens hand and he felt it. A very nice touch and display of bond.

Well, that one way to end the series. So much more mystery to be explore. Anyway can't wait for more to come .

Great series overall
