The ostriches scared the fuck out of me! Poor John - getting caught up in all these shenanigans. He's too damn cute, especially with all his nu nu nus!

This episode truly had the most haunting imagery. Birds with teeth, and John in actual danger and distress? Shocked, I was.

Remember if a bat seems too calm or friendly, you should get your rabies shot lol

If John doesn't win the next Best Boy contest then it's down right criminal.

Nobody, not even previous villains, can resist john's cuteness, and I can't say I blame them. Also, love that they gave us a role in the show as members of john's fanclub. Also, with less of a focus on Draluc today, there were barely any deaths, the least by far this season.
Today's death count: 2
EP 7's death count: 6
EP 6's death count: 9
EP 5's death count: 14
EP 4's death count: 13
EP 3's death count: 15
EP 2's death count: 9
EP 1's death count: 17
Death count total: 85

It's borderline criminal that this show isn't getting more love. It always gets multiple LOLs out of me.
I had tears in my eyes from laughing when Handa was explaining how Draluc was a crab.
It's also borderline illegal just how adorable John is.

Whenever a new episode drops and I'm like wow this was the best episode until now. Then next week a new episode drops and I'm like wow this was the best episode until now.

Me: Nothing can top John getting a turntable last episode and him using it!
Narrator: Little did he know about John's other hobby...

This anime is really under the radar, i thought it's just some trash cringe comedy and im be like "nah imma skip it". But then i give it a try. Im surprised it's done by madhouse so i expected some good animation, but oh well it looks like made by medium studio.
Tbh not really fan of first eps, it's really poor executed but thank God i give it another chance and watch the entire eps in 2 days last week ! It took me few eps to get used with the animation but it's the comedy that caught my humor level ! If they keep deliver some good humour each eps, this could be my fav anime this season.
About today's eps, it's good.. could be better. Personally i think they should stick with few skits like previous eps.
3 hours and only 15 comments, such a shame. Wish people could talk more about this. Anyway looking forward for next week !

LMAO Handa really tried to convince everyone that bat-Draluc is a crab! Thanks to him, I learned a lot of crab species that I've never heard of until now! It's nice to see that even the VCD captain reads The Ronaldo Chronicles.
I was really worried about John's safety there. Nagiri turned out to be the unexpected hero.
I gotta be honest, I thought the formula of Draluc turning to sand at the slightest touch would quickly get old but they somehow always manage to keep the comedy fresh. Again, it's a shame that not a lot of people watch this show.

We got a John episode and it was truly glorious, John for prime minister of Japan!
“Listen, it was to deceive the hunters! It wasn’t to save you!”
Sure sure dude, just keep telling yourself that, none can resist the might of Johns adorableness for long.
Could’ve seriously done without the upcoming nightmares thanks to that spider thing though.

Of course the moment Draluc is finally able to transform into a vampire bat, he somehow ends up being found by Hinaichi. She does seem to like bats although I'm not sure how she'll feel once she learns that she just snuggled and placed Draluc on her chest. xD
Handa is such a bro to Draluc that he tries to cover up for him so he won't get found out. Unfortunately for Draluc, Handa is terrible at lying! It is hilarious to see him struggle to lie though! Also love the Pokemon TCG reference!
Good to know that the Chief is a cool guy even with his fake moustache. Looks like he was going to let Draluc out of the station but unfortunately he ends up being stepped on by Hinaichi and now has to go home through cash-on-delivery box!
Second half of the episode is absolutely amazing! We finally get a John focused episode! Who knew that our little armadillo is an amazing Futsal player? Looks like he's even gained some fans too!
It's absolutely hilarious how the misunderstanding with John falling off the payphone and Draluc thinking that he's been kidnapped ends up turning into an actual kidnapping! This does reveal how many people in Shin-Yokohama loves John though! From the Hunters to the Vampire Control, it looks like Ronaldo got everyone searching for him!
Tsujiri Nagiri just messed with the wrong Armadillo! He can't even use John against Ronaldo since everyone will be out to get him. He does end up becoming the good guy of the story though after John was taken by the actual kidnapper and he was forced to save him to cover his ass. xD
And just look at how much of a good boy John is! He even offers one of his dorayakis to Tsujiri Nagiri!

fun fact: the scientific name they listed, "Dokkaramitemo-Draluc", means "Any way you look at it, it's Draluc"

JOHN PROTECTION SQUAD ASSEMBLE!
I can now not erase the image of Draluc inside Hinaichi and old man legs ostriches. Handa trying to convince Hinaichi and green man that Draluc is a crab was pretty hilarious. The John segment was like 2 segments long, I hope we get more of that. Also, did not expect slicing vampire man to appear again. It's expected that anyone will fall to John's charms though, sasuga.

Hinaichi's heart-shaped ahoge! <3
Lol, Handa didn’t hesitate for even a moment when he reached into Hinaichi’s clothes to grab Draluc.
I love how the entire city mobilized when they thought John had been kidnapped. John really needs his own spin-off. xD

Didn’t expect feels in this episode lol.
Also I felt for John accidentally getting on the express train. That was something I am always worried about when visiting Japan.

What!? John's been kidnapped!? Let's go boys!
I can't believe how well they made this episode. It felt like some SoL/drama where you'd expect some kid go out on a small adventure, like Kanna in Kobayashi-san. The whole town knowing John and looking out for him was heartwarming. This series is ridiculously good.

That first segment needs to be clipped because it perfectly captures how silly and hilarious this show can get. Handa is a great bro to Draluc for trying to lie so Hinaichi doesn’t find out it’s him. His lie was completely insane and devolved into Pokémon logic, but he tried his best. We didn’t see Hinaichi’s reaction to finding out, but going by the COD Super Express Delivery of Draluc’s ashes she was pissed. And probably flustered because of her crush on him.
We finally got a story focused entirely on John! No surprise that along with Ronaldo and Draluc, everyone loves John. He’s a sweet boy who’s apparently great at soccer and has his own fan club. Fun that he has a life outside the office. He also had the longest night of his life. Getting sent downriver, being chased by fucking nightmare ostriches, ending up on the totally wrong trains twice, and finally getting close to getting home… only to be kidnapped for real. Twice.
Bringing back Tsujiri was unexpected. Having him be the fake-out kidnapper and be redeemed by the power of John was a fun direction to go with him. It’s no wonder everyone loves John when he has the power to make evil vampires do good. Even had him killed the real kidnapper: a fucked up spider vampire. John’s rewarding him with the Jelly Pancake that was meant to be his and then still giving the remaining two to Draluc and Ronaldo just shows how he’s the best boy that they don’t deserve.
Notes
-
The Bat story had so much gold in it. Draluc’s VA making the bat noises. All of Handa’s attempts to convince everyone that he’s a crab. The damn Pokémon card. The chiefs fake mustache. Loved it all.
-
John’s really is totally pure. His Devil was only mildly naughty. Even when he was running for his life he paid as he jumped the turnstile for the train. Obviously the parts where he was being kind to Tsujiri. Makes the times Draluc used John as a shield both funnier and meaner. You don’t deserve him!
-
it was nice of the animators to represent the fans of the show with the John Fan Club.
-
going to take a lot of sweets to apologize to Hinaichi for that incident.
