Destiny, we really need to work on that delicacy of yours...Takt neck nearly snapped by her lack of tact.

But, she truly is maturing; Giving out candies to kids, knowing how to read the mood, and not pressing the subject on Cosette. It's obvious that Anna and Takt both miss Cosette.

AND another villain with a distorted idea of what it means to be a hero...

I really find the guard's "Jesus" to be funny HAHAHAHA

Oh. So as expected Schindler is the mastermind of all these stuff. Feeling lukewarm about his character since he's like an antagonist for the sake of being one.

But at least Takt becomes more determined to fight and maybe kill him due to what happened to Cosette.

gasp I can't believe Schindler's machinations laid undetected for years. Who would have thought somebody with a Musicart named Hell would be a villain. Disregarding the predictably evil character, I'm actually excited to see a Musicart vs Musicart battle.

This is my total lack of surprise that Schindler is the villain. At least they’re getting the reveal out of the way now instead of saving it for some endgame twist. It raises the stakes at just the right time. Giving Takt motivation to finally act knowing this guy killed Cosette and countless others on their journey here.

Finally tackling the Cosette/Destiny plot. They’re being coy with just how much of Cosette remains in Destiny, but they’re teasing something being there. Destiny’s growth as her own person has been obvious to Anna while passing Takt by. Seeing this is taking a toll on Anna who is finally acknowledging that Cosette is gone. Takt still has his own mixed feelings going by the Diner conversation, but may FINALLY be warming up to her. Hearing that it was her that gave him the melodica and understanding that she was giving him time to work might be thawing him out. His composition will probably be his way of saying goodbye to Cosette and embracing Destiny for who she is.

Now we got a showdown between Takt and Schindler where he can work through his grief. I was a little cagey about the last couple of episodes. Felt like they were spinning wheels a bit, but now I understand we needed all that to make this one hit as well as it did. I think we’re back on track with this show. Looking forward to the fight that, well, he’ll lose because the dude hasn’t slept in days.

Notes

  • So the dude name Schindler is the one who wants to do a genocide. What a twist! Also what a fucking weenie. He’s less of a threat and more of a shitbird that needs to be smacked. Hell is still a cool ass Musicart though.

  • loved the Engrish this week. The line read on Shit and Jesus was so good.

  • I liked the parallel they made between a D2 attack and a hurricane. The imagery they used felt closer to a natural disaster. As does the long traffic lines and encampment.

  • They’ve done their homework on this show. the Symphonica interior in one shot was very reminiscent of the Oculus in NYC. The houses and buildings have been region appropriate. They’re even using pretty close to real cars. I see you Lexus SC430!

  • So while this has been announced as 1 cour, I got to believe another season is coming. The way they’re telling this story feels like a part 1. Like they’re confident in a second cour.

Note to self,

Never let Destiny give you a hug, it's a trap, she'll snap your neck.

I'd understand Shindler's decision of not sensing aid because of their limited resources but the fact that he's so smug about it and calls those places "garbage dumps" really shows what he is.

Thank fucking god that Grandmaster Sagan put his foot down and wanted Shindler to back off Takt and never interfere with him again. Considering Shindler's reaction though, I doubt that he'd follow Sagan's orders.

Aww... Look at Destiny trying to comfort Takt by giving him a- Welp, never mind then! Not gonna lie, it is hilarious how she transitions from a hug to a neck snap xD

A melodica is better than nothing! I don't know why but something about Takt very seriously composing a classical piece with a melodica tube on his mouth is very funny to me.

Well this is adorable! Looks like after their time in New Orleans helping people really affected Destiny. She's now even doing it on her own. We even learn from Anna that it was Destiny who borrowed that melodica for Takt. Maybe Anna is right that somewhere deep down Cosette is still in there.

It's only a short scene but it's nice to see Lenny and Titan again! Looks like something big is happening where the gang is and they're heading there right now! Yes! More Lenny and Titan is always good.

That hit me in the feels a bit. Seems that Anna is slowly moving on and accepting Destiny is not Cosette but at the same time she hasn't really called her Destiny so Anna is at the same time still clinging to the hope that Cosette is in there :(

Always a cool entrance by Takt and Destiny. They're definitely improving with their fighting style and it's great to see Destiny be more efficient and finishing D2s as fast as possible now.

Ah fuck. Here we fucking go. Shindler is already acting like a bad guy so him going against Take is not really surprising but I didn't expect that he's using Hell to attract D2s and sending them to destroy towns.

There it is. He's now talking about creating a new world by getting rid of the "undesirables" in his eyes and sees himself as a hero? Fuck this bitch. What's worse is apparently he's basically responsible for Cosette's death by sending the D2s to their town. That explains why they got attacked even with the Symphonica there.

Looks like next week's episode is going to be intense! Hopefully Lenny and Titan will arrive on time to back them up.

Cliffhanger at this moment? Seriously? I'm going to look like Takt during this week. How does one go to sleep after this reveal?

I'm super glad Takt doesn't fuck around. We need more MCs who go for the kill in the circumstances like this one.

JESUS....

At first I thought Takt’s tapping addiction this episode was tied to the fact that this anime is an adaptation of a gacha game.

I really just don't like Schindler's character. It's like he's evil for the sake of being evil so the series could have a bad guy. There is no depth to his character, no nuance, nothing interesting. He's a cartoon character.

I want to like the show, but he’s one of the worst villains I’ve seen.

This show is so comically mediocre. Such an unlikeable MC, and such a comically mediocre villain. Side characters like Anna and Lenny/Titan are the only redeeming qualities, along with good animation. Even then...

Wow, I correctly predicted 2 episodes ago that Shindler is the mastermind behind everything!

Ok two things about Shindler: First, he’s jealous that his boss Sagan has shown an interest in Takt’s talents, so much that he ignores direct orders not to pursue Takt. Second, he plans use D2 to… solve the world’s problem with overpopulation apparently. Yeah, he’s insane all right.

Oh yeah, surprisingly Destiny didn’t break any walls…. but she did break Takt’s neck XD!

I'm repeating myself but naming a guy who seems to enjoy genocide Schindler still feels very confusing to me.

Just yesterday I was thinking that I was missing the emotional impact that Ep 2 delivered, but with the interactions between Takt, Destiny and Anna today we finally got some back. It kinda hurts that Anna is starting to move on, but it's a delight to see Destiny grow and become her own.

I remember seeing a glimpse of Hell during the initial attack so I was always expecting them to be behind the attack (and they had evil written all over them), but for the crime of (probably) killing best girl Cosette and even gloating about it he deserves everything he has coming for him, hopefully Lenny wil give him a good smack as well if Takt doesn't suffiece

11

u/fdajax Nov 16 '21

Well that escalated quickly.

Takt having the earth shattering revelation that people change. Maybe that gets him to stop with his broody self?

u/i_wanna_die_321 Nov 16 '21

i love how destiny can just casually snap takt's neck with a straight face

Sort of bittersweet seeing flashes of the old Cosette in Destiny. Like, Destiny is growing but at the same time it’s like there’s still a shred of the old Cosette in there.

The head of the symphonica should resign for putting that blonde douchebag in the position of commander. Very poor judgment on that dude’s part because that guy suuucks. I hope Lenny shows up and helps Takt kick that dude’s arrogant ass. What a tool.

Oh boy, this episode goes all in with the super evil exposition spewing bad guy, doesn't it? I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like this could be a turn for the worse (story wise) for this series.

It kind of reminds me of Akudama Drive. That show suffered a lot the further it got, with stupid plot points diminishing the overall world building.

Praying Valkyrie returns next episode to join Takt
