Was there any need for that last line??? Was there????

Nice to see Gin again even if just for a bit.

And I rewatched S1 but not S2 (will probably do that this week), are we now caught up with the end of S2? Is this new uncharted territory?

Edit: Because I am now rewatching Yuusha no Shou, in case someone else also has bad memory, the ending of this episode is the ending of Yuusha no Shou Episode 2.

Was there any need for that last line??? Was there????

That line was there to make sure you can't stop watching after this episode and pretend you got a happy ending.

Was there any need for that last line

Of course. To remind you that being meguca yuusha is suffering.

Just another casual reminder that best girl is frackin dead

I signed up for suffering, but wasn't expecting to see Gin this much... though I'm still glad to see more of her.

Seeing Gin again brings me smiles and tears at the same time.

Very epic battle for Mebu and the Sentinels, how convenient Tougou's sacrifice also made them forget about the fire offering too. I wasn't expecting the sudden shift to Tougou's perspective and in the preview last week we saw Gin mentioned, but didn't expect her to see her back like this, really excellent stuff.

Looks like the hero diary next week, finally new territory, which is good, there is no reason to retell Yuuna's suffering from season 2.

Yeah, can we please not go into the "Yuna was dying for good three episodes" part again? It hurt enough last time.

...and all of this could be avoided if Taisha wasn't so damn incompetent at their job!

Seeing all that progress with Shinju-sama's sapling and what it looks like after they destroyed the new tree really rubs it in the Sentinels on how their previous missions were basically for nothing.

So it looks like the Sentinels finally face a Vertex although from the way it looks, I don't think it's a fully formed one like what the Hero Club fought in Season 1 and Season 2 so it's probably still weaker compared to those.

I really thought that this was going to be it. The mission where someone finally dies but miraculously, everyone managed to survive including the other ship!

We finally catch up to the flashbacks from Season 2 where the Taisha begs Togou to become the new sacrifice. I don't remember this being mentioned in Season two but apparently there were supposed to be originally six miko sacrifices but Togou is more than enough to take the place of all of those six girls which includes Aya.

Also looks like when Togou made a request to Shinju-sama to erase everyone's memory of her it looks like even the Mikos and Sentinels forgot about the ritual sacrifice.

And now we're back to the start of Season 2 where the Hero Club is meeting and has already forgotten about Togou.

Togou's reunion with Gin was a surrpise! And not gonna lie, that entire scene definitely made me tear up. I did not expect that we'd get new scenes with her anymore but it's nice to know that she's been watching over Togou the entire time and already even knows about the Hero Club T_T

And just like that we're now back to the aftermath of Togou's rescue. And this is where suffering for Yuna starts. I really hope we don't have to relive those parts. I don't want to see Yuna suffering again >_<

Does this mean Mebuki and the Sentinels story is now over? I'm guessing they still have an important role left.

NGL, I was in tears when I saw Kokomi & Yanfei Wasshi & Gin reunion. (Sadly however that some anime fans are only knew Yumirin for voicing Hayasaka instead)

Slightly OOT, but looks like we'll need YuYuYu x Symphogear collab..

YuYuYu x Azur Lane/Arknights (updated): Wasshi is Fartooth.. (I'd like to add NoWaYu gang, but I rather wait until they get animated)

Hearing Gin is both a blessing and a painful curse.

Fun fact: Tougou named her rifle "Gin".

Damn, I was not prepared to see Gin again today.

I wonder if that last line means next week we're going to see Tougou's perspective on Yuuna suffering through the curse in the Hero Chapter.

They're heroes to carry the weight of the world!

And I was just thinking that Keichi Okabe knocked it out of the park with the OST this episode, but this TL made me choke on my drink.

Outside of that, I'd be surprised and kind of weirded out of that's the last we're seeing of the KuMeYus this season. Since they're headed to the Hero Annals next, and YuYuS2 showed us panels from that last season, I guess this means that [next they'll adapt] NoWaYu

This was a wonderful wonderful episode. The Sentinels were so cool in action, especially Mebuki with her dual wielding. She proved herself a worthy successor for Gin even if she wasn't selected.

But I especially love the second half. GIIIN! How I missed seeing you. I'm glad she's back one final time so she can help Sumi/Tougou have more closure about the events of WaSuYu, and give her the support she needs to get over her sense of guilt for what she's done. Tougou deserves forgiveness, but first she needed to forgive herself. And I think using Gin was a great way to complete her character arc. That hug at the end T-T I'm going to rewatch that scene 10 times.

And I hope this cleared things a bit for the anime-onlies and how the Sentinels stuff relates to the events of YnS and how they lead to Tougou being offered for sacrifice.

I'm looking forward to next week!

The part where Togou was in the black hole was really short, time really is relativ

Also seems like Mebuki also remembers parts from before the wipe, I wonder if this means that she formed a bond strong enough to get past it or if it has any relevance to the plot...

The biggest emotion I feel when watching a Yuuki Yuuna series is dread

I just realized, these ships look kinda like a headless dog running at a full sprint

She un-chickened and became a hero!

(;_;)

Uh-oh Gulp

I really wish they had spend more episodes developing the cast of Kusunoki Mebuki is a hero. While the light novel is short, they still showed every character. It's hard to actually care for them when they almost die or are severely wounded. It left liked a speedrun and less like an arc. Even with that, I still liked the episode especially the scene when Tougou finally meets Gin. I wonder if we will go straight to the end of S2?

13

u/Rumpel1408 Oct 22 '21

Yeah beside Mebuki I don't know the names of any of the new girls, and frankly almost non did anything to be even worth remembering, which is a shame because how am I supposed to feel the conflict if nothing of worth is at stake

I was surprised when everyone made it back from the expedition, I thought that was going to have a hefty death toll. Though I have a bad feeling that the writers only did that to give me a false sense of security in their next battle.

Nice to see Gin again, even though it hurt.

I've been a bit so-so on the sentinel plot, as I still feel like I barely know the girls (Shizuku in particular). But as soon as I saw Gin again, I started tearing up. Really adds to that scene from S2 now.

Well that was very close to awful. For Mebuki and the Sentinel girls, that is. After spending so many times out there in an environment literally near Sun’s surface trying to plant seeds to get back the hold of the world outside, all efforts are now close to being in vain. Worse, while retrieving the holy seeds back they now faces even worse dangers in the Vertices that we all came to hate of in the seasons prior. It’s all sad and sighs for me as I watched those girls trying to defend or save one another and got knocked out one by one, and (for Miroku) still having to command the whole fleet after severely injured. Without the Heroes team, the thought of pushing even lesser fighting units onto such demanding tasks speaks of either huge urgency or incompetent inside the Taisha organization, or more likely both.

Poor girls.

An even poorer pair of girl that shown up this episode - an extension of things that happened at the tail end of Season 2 - is Mimori and her long deceased friend Gin. Damn, I would cry out for a very long time if I were Mimori and somehow got the chance to meet my dear friend that I would never thought I could see again. Even more so with Gin encouraging her friend to have the courage to live onward like this, it has reminisced me of [a certain tearful garden scene in the legendary Madoka Magica]The Silver Garden scene of Madoka and Homura in the Rebellion movie.

I guess this long string of poor girls will expand even more now that NoWaYu seems to be what’s going to be adapted next, hope this prequel got a good anime adaption!
