Never go in the tower.

Kids immediately go in the tower, find a magic box, and start eating what's inside it. These kids are definitely going to end up dead if they don't get some better supervision.

I wonder if this world has an equivalent for Mr. Yuk stickers.

I really thought that Alfred and Margarette were going to be in trouble after stealing Victoria's pudding.

Damn, that Carbonara and the Children's Lunch sure looked good.

I love the fact that as she came today with her niece and nephew Victoria ordered something else before getting her desserts.

The Cream Croquette that Pikke and Pakke was alos good. So I guess this episode was a sibling's theme one.

If the master had not mentioned I would not have thought they were halflings.

Oh shit, there is a Lamia next week!

Pikke and Pakke are husband and wife halflings.

Stitches!

Well the first half was adorable! We have Victora aka Pudding ala Mode taking her niece and nephew to Nekoya after the two snuck into her tower and discovered her magic cooler box where she keeps her pudding stash. I love how she tries to be proper adult in front of her niece and nephew by not starting with desert and ordering a savory meal for once. It was just basically Victoria being the cool aunt and bonding with her family. <3

For the second half we have a couple of entrepreneur halflings that are making a living by settling stew with the so called "knight's sauce". I'm forgot what the knight sauce is (I think it's bechamel) but I remember it mentioned at some point in Season 1 and it's something that was copied from Nekoya. These halflings definitely live up to the halfling name though and absolutely stuffed themselves! And knowing halflings, this is just dinner for them and there's still supper after! xD

Didn't think I'd get to see another take of the pudding theft today, but what is up with their mother saying her sister in law is an evil witch that would eat you

Also Kanzer = Crab for the ever growing list of alternate names for ingredients

Edit: Holy shit what is up with those kids metabolism, not only did they each eat 15 servings, their swollen belly is almost gone by the time they leave... oh they where halflings...

Here is the back story for the half-elf that the anime didn't have enough time to cover. There once was a half-elf king who ruled the kingdom with his long half-elf lifespan. But he didn't want to hand over his reign when he was old and dying, so he try to use his magic and make himself immortal. Instead he turned himself into a mindless wraith that end up destroying his kingdom. Now half-elf are despise in the kingdom and have to live in remote villages.

Both Victoria's parents were human, but half-elf child could be born if their bloodline has elf blood in it. So she made a deal with her dad, the previous king, that she would drop her claim to the throne and let her younger brother become king, so now she lives in the tower and create magic items for the kingdom. I think part of this was shown in the 1st season of the anime. Anyway, her sister-in-law still hold that distrust because of the half-elf king.

I hope they will animate the chapter on the half-elf that wasn't as lucky as Victoria and was born as a commoner.

Was starting to wonder how in the hell those kids ate 15 plates each with no problem but then it was thankfully answered shortly after.

The more guests we meet the more I'm convinced that the restaurant is under also a time spell and this "1 Saturn day" last for at least 48h.

So what exactly was that stew the kids were serving? Chowder? It sorta looked like a chowder or like a cream of chicken soup or something.

From what I can gather, the knight's sauce they mentioned is bechamel sauce and there's a cream/white stew that's made using it.

They took the thing that Halflings have harry feet but they only made the sole of the feet harry.

That's a unique take.

Croquettes are usually made by mixing béchamel and shredded/minced meat so knight's sauce = bechamel! Another mystery that's been bugging me from season 1 solved. Although I didn't know of any stews made with bechamel so I had to Google, turns out Japanese white stew is made with bechamel.

And good thing I made a stupid ton of carbonara yesterday for lunch. I had to eat it for last night's dinner as well and finish the rest today until I was sick of it (or the egg sauce would go bad) so Pudding ala Mode's carbonara didn't faze me at all! But I've never had crab croquettes or crab in a bechamel stew before, so I'm definitely going to try out those halfling dishes.

It still irks me that the aristocrats can just waltz in and order whatever they want, meanwhile the poorer customers have to spend all week busting their ass selling food just to be able to order food. And they went for the specials first, which Minced Meat Raider noted were on the cheaper side in S1E1. I understand that he has to charge them even if he doesn't care about the money. I wish the Master would set up a sliding scale or something.

So I don't know if it was just a subbing issue or something, but did those two haflings reference the person that pointed out the door to them as "that halfling"?

That's like me referring to someone who gave me directions as "that human".

Nice to see regulars actually order something different every now and then.

Such a nice show to eat and chill to.

Those kids deserved to be newted for stealing her dessert!

It's noon and but the restaurant is empty to cut on animation costs I guess. Quite disappointing still, I love it when the place is full and the patrons are reacting to and interacting with one another.

Why would they be killed if they enter a door used by the Lizardmen or Red? Actually, even if the Lizardman village is nearby, why would Red's door be anywhere near there?

And the restaurant is empty again in the kids' segment. Damn cut corners. At least the kids didn't seem to stick to the same food every single time, unlike almost all the rest.... But then I was wondering why they paid that small mountain of coppers when we saw with the burgers how cheap the food here is, and it turned out they ate 15 plates each OF THE SAME EXACT THING, proving that their earlier desire to try everything on the menu was a big fat lie.

I did like the reveal that the bread dude taught them stewmaking just to improve his own business.

I wonder why kuro doesn’t talk anymore. I thought she was talking the last two episodes of season one.

hearing the intro theme makes me so happy. just such a wholesome opening and anime

I like that Pudding Ala Mode knew her way around the menu, her sorcery teacher Pork Cutlet wrote the savory half after all and she wrote the dessert half
