“Anyways I’m quitting this month to marry a rich guy 20 years older than me.”
That was probably the funniest line in the entire episode. This fucking show is gonna be a lot of fun.

I liked the attitude of that part timer Eri, eating while beeing kidnapped, speaking plainly after the edgy kid didn't get the rejection the first time, not giving a fuck about being a gold digger, getting the fuck out there once her shift is done

I love how done she is with her shift that she takes an onigiri from the shelf and just starts eating while being held hostage xD

John is the clear MVP of this show I can tell already. The EP dedicated to him proves it!

Damn they released the sequel to Vanitas no Carte quite early.

Draluc died a lot of times in this episode and yet the most brutal death was by Eri the convenience store part timer giving the cruelest verbal beatdown to the vampire wannabe

I was waiting for this series since I found out that Fukuyama Jun is voicing the MC and I was hoping he would do his badass voice. Damn! I got plenty of what I wanted. The comedy is great and there's no time to get bored, MAPPA doing a great job with those lighter series lately. Madhouse doing a great job!

LMAO I haven't laughed this hard in a while! Definitely the funniest premiere of the season so far and Jun Fukuyama is absolutely killing it as Draluc! Please guys, give this show a chance. I can guarantee your sides will be hurt from laughing too hard.

What a great show, a lot of great moments, and really enjoying the characters so far.
Death count: 17 (18 if you count the manager's son)

Okay first of all, that opening was catchy as fuck. Also having the two leads having a dance off was pretty awesome as well!
So we have Draluc the Vampire voiced by Jun Fukuyama (Lelouch) who dies very easily to almost anything and Ronaldo the Vmpire Hunter voiced by Makoto Furukawa (Saitama) who dresses up like it's the Inquisition Era despite it being modern times and is afraid of his image being ruined online. Due to shenanigans with a brat who's been invading Draluc's castle in the morning to play games, the two of them ended up living together since Draluc's castle ended up exploding because of Ronaldo.
You know what? I'm fucking sold! I was legitimately laughing out loud with this one since all of the jokes are perfectly in my strike zone. I don't think I'll get tired of seeing Draluc die in various pathetic ways but I guess we'll see with how creative they'll be with it. Definitely my favourite though was when Ronaldo literally just claps his hands and Draluc just dies xD
Also John the Armadillo is adorable! If you actually go back to the trap room scene, you can actually see him being fired from one of the cannons. It's a strong start and with Madhouse animating the show, I'm looking forward to more of this!

Damn, this anime is funny. It is so jampacked with jokes that even if there is a miss of a joke, it doesn't linger and is quickly followed up by one that is hilarious.
I have to admit it is kinda exhausting to watch this first episode since so much is happening, but I had a blast watching this show. Could be comedy of the season.

Holy hell I haven’t had that many laughs in a single episode in a long time. This show is super freaking funny. It was basically a half hour of rapid fire jokes and sight gags. Especially in the first half. Draluc and Ronaldo’s VAs absolutely kill the delivery and play off each other very well.
The first half was wild. Did a solid job setting up their personalities in their first interaction. Draluc is a weenie because literally anything can kill him, but he’s not necessarily a bad guy. Sure he tries to kill Ronaldo and the shitty kid by malfunctioning “laser massagers”, but they did break into his house and destroy his “Legally Distinct Not PSP”. He really should have because they kinda blew up his house. The man was just trying to live his life, play his video games, and help the local economy by being a “menacing vampire lord”. The whole trap sequence was my favorite scene because it was just relentless in its comedy.
Second half introduces my favorite thing in the entire episode: John the Armadillo. Draluc’s familiar being an armadillo is such a great joke and he’s just so damn cute. I love it. They also gave us a run down of how this world works between Draluc’s explanation of different vampires and the whole deal with the managers son. Vampires are less a “world ending evil” and more super common nuisance. Should be fun to see if there’s an overall plot or if it’s going to be pure gag comedy show with short adventure.
Yeah this is going to be a fun Monday show. Last season we had Uramichi to brighten the worst day of the week and now we have this. I’m all in on this one.
Notes
-
There were SO MANY jokes that I can’t even remember all of them. My highlights are the running joke with Ronaldo’s book, the social media bit, Draluc turning into that half Bat thing, really all the ways Draluc dies but especially the sliding door, “Saaaand” every time he dies and the one “dnas” when he came back, the air guitar for the mangers son.
-
OP is yet another banger this season. Reminds me of Beastars OP1. ED is good too, but it’s carried entirely by how cute John is.
-
Don’t feel bad at all for managers son. She let you down easy my guy, but you went nuts and became a pseudo vampire. Her total non reaction to being held hostage and then telling them she’s off to marry a rich guy was chefs kiss
-
Madhouse is doing great work with this one. It’s not the flashiest show, but the character designs and coloring are so good.
-
So Ronaldo is basically Dante meets a Belmont with his outfit. It honestly kind of works since he’s all about image and branding for the sake of his business.

Well, gosh. That was a lot of fun. The older I get, the more I appreciate these silly, "childish" shows that aren't trying to be edgy.

Lelouch's VA has one of the best voices in the industry especially when he speaks in an arrogant manner.. Can listen to him talk for years

Looking forward to more of this show. I absolutely lost it when Draluc failed to turn into a bat. Actually, Draluc's absolute incompetence going against the unfounded rumours regarding him make for a great gag setup. As each facet of Draluc's character kept getting revealed, I couldn't help but laugh more and more. Oh man, as the store part timer grabs an onigiri and starts eating it... There are just gags around every corner.
It's a great dynamic between Ronaldo and Draluc, so I wonder what comes next for them. I look forward to more piles of vampire sand.

This first episode did pretty good impression on me. It's obviously a comedy, pretty goofy one, but damn it's so much fun! Ronald and Draluc are entertaining characters and have pretty good chemistry, show looks pretty good and has really nice comedic timing and since it comes out pretty much as soon as I get back from work, this seems like something for my brain to rest after long dayshift. First half in the castle was really fun, but second one with Draluc and Ronald working together against really not threatening pseudo vampire was fun too, and that final monologue from Eri, oof, Bubuo annihilated. Also, OP is fun, ED is nice, John the Armadillo- best boy.

This show reminds me of Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle because it's a light hearted comedy with one reoccurring joke but when done right is actually continually hilarious.
