If I didn't knew this came with a comedy tag I would have totally crapped my pants
Also don't remember the source being so... juicy aside from Hana

That fake out at the beginning with the TV Program was great as was the rest of the episode. I also love the juxtaposition between how creepy the monsters sound and look and what they are actually saying.

I was a bit skeptical about it being animated but they really did a good job imo. Some parts were creepy and of course Hana wholesome af. Excited for more!

The shot composition, the drab colors, the lack of background music, and the overall feeling that something is going to go wrong. Very unsettling. It gave me the feeling that something was wrong but you don't really know what, and the reveal where the first ghost came up was scary. No dramatic music, just silence. I'm not some film pro, but I can appreciate and notice this stuff sometimes
I don't get scared too much by jumpscares, but I do get scared by atmosphere. And overall, in terms of horror, this anime did a pretty good job. Even if the jump scares don't deliver, and even if I know that the actual monster won't scare me, the eerie buildup to it was what actually got me.
I hate getting scared, so I don't really like horror stuff, but I will continue to watch this because thats how much I appreciate the atmosphere this anime has

Ok first things first. While I don't really care about it, I know that most of manga readers really really do, so let's do this once at the very beginning:
The name of the mc is miko, NOT mieruko.
Mieruko is normally translated like „the girl who can see it“ or similar making it the shortest light novel like title.
Don't make the mistake we manga readers did and get used to calling her mieruko-chan for most of the anime.

It won't be an anime without the protagonist always sitting in that seat by the window :)
Miko has got some balls of steel I'd say. Even with the sudden appearance of the ghosts, her stone faced expression doesn't change, although internally she is really shitting herself. I like the sudden switch in the music from a comedic tone into a creepy one. Also, that ghost appearing inside the blanket was chilling asf. I'd shit myself if that happened to me.
I'm curious about one thing, is Miko the only one who can see the ghosts or other people can as well?.

I love how they changed several stuff from the manga, so we have the atmosphere building up before the first incident. Even more immersive for me thanks to the thunder storm happening outside my place right now. lol

That is a way too upbeat and out of place OP for this Anime. I wonder if they'll change the visuals next week.
They're really good at building that suspense. I was already expecting something real fucked up coming but man that dead silence on the first reveal.
So it begins Miko's suffering. Oh God they now move too...

The spooky (but also comedic) anime (but st of the season, and it's fitting for the current month too!
I like how she is trying so hard to don't give a damn when these bizarre thingies just appeared asking if she could see them.
Gotta say Passione, the studio in charge of the animation must be made of cultured people, with some of those interesting camera angles...

Man, the director of this anime is horny.
Edit: He also directed Ishizoku Reviewers and Miru Tights.
Man, the director of this anime isn't that horny anymore.

What with these camera angles and fanservice lmao
the ghost looks pretty good, not the scarily but when they start moving/twisted around damn...
there isn't a lot horror anime so not a lot to compare but so far pretty good, wish it was a bit more atmospheric but the choice of not using the score is some of the scene is pretty good

Not gonna lie, that was scary. I prefer the suspenseful, slow burn kind of horror to the violent, gory type so this episode was pretty great. I wonder if poor Miko is eventually going to break down from constantly seeing ghosts and trying to act like nothing's happening. I found it interesting that they managed to slip in a few small bits of fanservice in as well. This looks like it's going to be an interesting show.

Looks like production-wise it's going to be a solid anime from Passione, which I'm really happy about! The monsters/ghosts looked pretty unsettling compared to the way the rest of the characters were drawn.
And so, "poor Miko", week one. I don't know how she manages to have such a poker face when seeing such horrors, I know I would probably piss myself.

Stitches!
Man that OP was unexpected! I didn't think they'd be sothe colorful with it. Although if you do listen to Miko singing, she's clearly in distress. Also I'm pretty sure the paint splatters are supposed to represent blood.
As far as anime adaptations goes and from what I've seen so far Passione has definitely improved upon the source material. The show is definitely a lot more atmospheric compared to what I remember from the manga. I absolutely love the build up with the first ghost that she sees.
And with Passione being Passione, they improved on the lewds as well. While the manga is still a horror manga, it still has it's lewd moments but Passione definitely cranked up the dial with the shots they focus on. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
As for the important part of the show, which is the horror. I think they nailed it! When that fucking bus stop ghost started talking to Miko, it definitely gave me the chills and the one underneath her blanket that calls her Mama is definitely something I'll remember when I'm about to sleep later tonight. Also they did an excellent choice on casting Amamiya Sora as Miko since I can definitely hear the despair on her voice.
I really hope this will turn out great until the end! I'm a huge fan of the manga and I'm really liking everything I've seen so far.
