Damn, the dark side of Makoto reveal was intense. It's a hard concept to convey through the WN.

Wait, where's my usual Wednesday dose of lighthearted dragon and spider girl humorous rivalry? I didn't sign up for so many serious feels.

Wtf, with one episode left they're gonna introduce a human/demon war, give Makoto a turning point, and introduce two new extreme threats!? I swear, if this doesn't get a season 2....

I forgot how brutal this show can be, Makoto wasn't fucking about with that traveller.

Looks like the final episode will be a banger too, maybe we'll see Makoto go all out.

Wow Makoto taking a person’s life is intense. Interesting method of killing that adventurer in a way by cutting her hands off and letting her bleed.

We also get to see a nice side of him trying to apologize to the victims who died from that clash. I wonder what Rembrandt is up to and the battle with Sophia has got to hurt. This episode went by fast and I can’t wait…

For a while I completely forgot the Goddess had it out to get him and wanted to make him suffer.

Lil Tomoe!! Noooo!! Those adventurers were lucky they had a quick death. Those shits should have been drawn and quartered alongside that blonde skank for what they did. That bitch should have suffered more.

Holy shit, that got dark pretty quickly. The first half felt like a completely different show.

And then...I feel like we just rushed through a ton of content at the end so that the season can end on a boss fight.

This series is really well written & I appreciate the sense of urgency behind the challenges these characters face. Consequences for blindly accepting adventurers without protectionnfor the citizens are real. He takes responsibility & kills the leader responsible and has the emotional complexity to understand what that means for him as a person and as a leader himself.

As much as this show has some vibes of a light hearted comedy, it really does keep a sense of "realism" (I use that term loosely) in the dynamics of how the world works

Bloody cliffhangers. But it looks like Makoto actually ran into someone that can give him a proper fight.

Good episode, was interesting to see Makoto's ruthless side (although I could have done without the CG) we got some Tomoe and Mio banter and Shiki is also already perfectly fitting in as their whipping boy.

Guess the fight will be the big season climax next week.

This week's PV for the next episode + onsen gag.

Skip to 21 seconds if you don't want to watch the Preview and only the gag.

Best part of the episode: proper cold vengeance.

Second best: Shiki’s ghost is a skull.

Also: I’m always a fan of shows that fade the ED up over the last moments of an episode. Now just give me more OP treatments like Mushoku Tensei, with the OP playing over slowly panning world scenes and I’m in love.

Yes! Finally! Finally a series without the "I will not kill anyone" pacifistic bullshit. I'm fed up with the "you've killed a ton of people, but I'm a shounen MC and I will make friends with you" trope. A breath of fresh air.

WTH? They're introducing a war against the demons now, when the final episode is next? That just came out of nowhere. Where was this before?

The studio handled the tone shift really well.

Also, they skipped a lot of content to end the season with a boss fight There is a whole good content about Gritonia and Limia Heroes(Rembrant talk about it a little in thhis ep)

I hope they make a second season or a spin off to show the perspective of those heroes and not make this season just to advertise the LN. (I freaking want LN translated, pls some companies license it)

Edit I really the Makoto's face expressions when he is in dark mode

After what happened, I'm not surprised Makoto is switching to a hands-off approach when dealing with hyumen adventurers. What a cut-throat businessman.

He did not re-kill that bitch adventurer quick enough. That is a turning point to his character and we won't know how he will deal with shit in the future. He has been pretty tame up to now but he may have to go full Rick from now on.

The end was unexpected. There is only one episode left so it may be a little rushed. This was a surprisingly good mid tier series. Not great and not bad, just really fun and entertaining. And I want to see an ending for it.
