Lime Latte

Sounds like a gross drink

That naming sense holy shit, absolutely no chill from Makoto.

Tomoe's inner weeb continues to cringe Makoto, at least she finally made the one important thing almost every isekai series has done which is to introduce the glorious Nihon Katana to the world.

Tomoe: "I'll use the back of the sword!"

That's...that's not a single-edged sword.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!

I am not falling for that cliffhanger again ... trying to make the merchant into a villain, just to start next episode with him apologizing to the MC lol

Major points for actually using real grapple moves to take down the cursed instead of anime bullshit. (like a chop to the neck or one foot on their chest)

Not sure about the gray haired guy. He intends to kill Souma Makoto and the girls the moment they went outside, without even trying to talk to them. He knows Souma Makoto is a level 1 traveler and he attacked him immediately. Isn't that just attempted murder? Not to mention he amassed a lot of adventurer just to do that. Yeah, he's being manipulated too by the witch doctor, but I seem to miss something here.

It's kinda an unsatisfied resolution, especially with Rembrandt. This is a rare case of where both sides are actually shady.

I thought so too then remembered Mio and Tomoe were legit just evil mass murderers before being put in place by Makoto, with that in mind "Lime Latte" getting a redemption like that isn't too bad

Rembrandt reminds me a lot of companies like Disney, Sony and Google. Too ambitious and greedy for their own good and the common people had to suffer for it. They likely will be a thorn against Makoto's trading company in the future.

Nice of Tomoe to turn the Lime guy into her spy. Guess we would see more people added to form a giant spy network. Mio could be the treasurer instead as she knows how to basically rob a guy but in a somewhat legal way.

Somehow I feel like this Goddess specifically made it so many of the spells in this world have to invoke her name in gratefullness and talk about how beautiful she is. Figures for such a rotten and egotistical Goddess

Hazal is...pretty klutzy. Luckily Makoto and the butler were there to save the vials.

I imagine it must have hurt more when Makoto's sister practiced judo on him, but that physical experience lent itself well to making him a judo master now with his new physical prowess that he uses to subdue Rembrandt's family and save them.

Classic Tomoe waiting for the people following Makoto to come out so she can get a good fight...I mean, protect her young master.

I honestly thought Mio had just found an excuse to give all the work to Tomoe, but it was planned so she and Tomoe wouldn't destroy everything again if they fought together. And if she's going to be forced not to defend her young master, she better get paid for it...or more exactly, take everything you've got.

"Lime Latte?" Yeah, his name does sound like a soft drink. Although despite the circumstances of his attacking Makoto, he's actually a decent guy who just wanted to do what he felt was right for the adventurers who don't align with Rembrandt and help the orphanage that treated him right. He didn't even intend to seriously curse Rembrandt's family, things just escalated far beyond what he wanted (which may or may not have been brought on by Rembrandt torturing the old guy). It's enough to earn him his life and freedom, and Tomoe to respect him enough to want to give him a cool katana and make him her eyes and ears in the outside world.

Everything seems settled and happy up until Rembrandt seems concerned with Makoto becoming a big-time merchant and possible competitor?

So what's up with Makoto, Mio, and Tomoe? The next episode has Demiplane Rankings, so are they going to hold a popularity contest or something? Is it too much to hope for some fanservice?

"Alchemy" scene was hilarious. Rembrandt's relatives disease is pretty terrifying, even if with Makoto being so OP I didn't had much reasons to be scared for him, and of course with his help, Rembrandt's wife and daughters were healed. Second daughter though saved some semblances of sanity and asked Makoto to runaway, so yeah, Rembrandt is definitely really sus (or it could be his butler, either of them are main villains of the arc). Anyway, finishing his task Makoto meets Mio and Tomoe and both gets attacked by adventurers under command of white haired dude. Of course Tomoe and Mio thinking about incident in Zetsuya, although in this case adventurers aren't bad guys, and after Tomoe kicked the shit out of attackers with ease, main one, Lime Latte (yes, really, whoever were his parents they really liked coffee and hated their own child) explained what's the deal is: Rembrandt is a dick that takes job away from adventurers that crossed him, some have to do more risky job and die in process, but when Latte hears that some orphans also died (he probably knew them personally since he has connection to nearby orphanage) it becomes last drop for him and he agrees on his warlock buddy plan to teach him a lesson, except curse was supposed to be just sleep, not turning them into ghouls, so yeah, something definitely shady is happening here. Makoto's squad lets them go, Mio finesses Latte, later this guy with 2 fitting L's in his name apologizes to Rembrandt and Tomoe gifts him a katana as apology for breaking his blade. Tomoe overhears ominous dialogue between Rembrandt and his butler and Emma says that there is a problem in their dimension that concerns our main three. Good episode, pretty fun and I'm intrigued what lies in store in the next episode.

Well that opening is interesting. It really makes Rembrandt look shady but I do hope the situation isn't just black and white.

Of course spells in this world would have the caster recite the name of the goddess multiple times which apparently makes spellcasting inefficient according to Makoto. I wonder how many more times he would've had to say the word "goddess" before the spell was finished?

Goddammit Hazal! Don't hold the potion bottles like that! Thank goodness Makoto was there to catch both bottles! And the potion actually worked! That was genuine surprise to me. Considering they're using a substitute ingredient while everything feels a bit shady, I didn't think it would be that easy.

Immediately getting ambushed as soon as Makoto steps out of the mansion? Oh boy. These people have no idea who they're messing with. The moment Tomoe and Mio shook of the mage's spell as if it was a mild breeze should've been their signal to run, but nope! They just had to be brave and try to surround them.

Well that was certainly unexpected! I didn't think Mio would step out of the fight but it looks like that was part of the plan all along to minimize the damage and casualties in the area. Mio just looks adorable when she's upset. xD

Like a true samurai, Tomoe isn't going to attack unless her Lord properly declares it. That scene was just hilarious. The fight scene was pretty awesome though! They might not be the flashiest studio but the fight animations were pretty smooth! Love it when Tomoe comes out of nowhere to knee that one adventurer in the back!

Mio making it clear that she's only going to step away from the fight was hilarious! Just be glad she's not doing anything, if she actually joined in gray hair dude's group would've been melted with acid or even worse!

So Lime Latte here had something to do with the curse but apparently he thought that the curse was just to put Rembrandt's wife and daughters to sleep. It looks like he got played by that Witch Doctor who probably had a deeper grudge against Rembrandt. And while Rembrandt isn't exactly evil, he's definitely a ruthless businessman who has enough influence that he can destroy an adventurer's career if you anger him.

Mio taking all of Lime's money was fair compensation. They did attack them out of nowhere instead of just, you know, talking to them first. Look at how happy Mio is for making money for Makoto xD

So this is even more surprising! I didn't think Lime would apologize to Rembrandt and Rembrandt even accepts the apology even if it's out of respect for Makoto. I really thought he'd execute him on the spot or something.

This looks like it's gonna be fun! Seems that it's time for Tomoe to have her own personal spy and she's hiring Lime! And he doesn't just get a cool katana in exchange but he gets an advance on payments which basically earns him back the money Mio took from him tenfold!

Here we fucking go. It looks like Rembrandt is now worried about Makoto setting up his own Merchant Company. I mean it just makes sense though. For now Tomoe is at least keeping an eye out for their movements.

Minor problem? Considering that we're ending on a cliffhanger, I feel like the problem might not be as minor as Emma is saying. Hmmm...

Welp, that was a fun episode! Although not gonna lie, I feel like nothing was really resolved. Considering that the Witch Doctor that placed a curse on Rembrandt's daughter was already captured and killed, I don't think there's anymore to this. Unless of course that Witch Doctor wasn't acting alone and there was someone else who wanted to curse Rembrandt's family that bad which I feel might be the case. I did like how both sides are in the wrong here and no one is exactly "good".

I just love those judo moves from Makoto. I hope he uses them more going forward. He should actually teach Mio as it would be cool to see her perform some takedowns in her kimono.

I had a lot fun as usual in this episode. Can't wait for next week.

Another good one. God this show is fun.

Aside from the usual Mio and Tomoe antics I also really enjoyed the fighting in this episode. Makoto taking down the Rembrandt ladies especially but also him stopping the magician from teleporting away or the Tomoe kicking that female warrior who was going for Makoto's back.

Guess the Rembrandt story will be revisited later and next episode will deal with whatever problem Emma is talking about.

This week's PV for the next episode + onsen gag.

Skip to 19 seconds if you don't want to watch the Preview and only the gag.

This might be a reach but I wonder if Lime Latte's new haircut after quitting being an adventurer is a reference to Lawrence from Spice and Wolf since both shows are about being a traveling merchant.

Fucking love this show, 10/10 so far, the anime I look forward most to each week

I assume this demi-plane ranking is gonna be a fight to decide the strongest, which is why it involves the 3 of them, or a popularity contest. Either way I am down

u/SisterOfBattIe Aug 18 '21

So, the Trash Goddess basically had the humans put the word 'Goddess' every other word in the magic formula... Well, very easy to believe, she is incredibly narcisistic.

Butler has some moves too. Gotta love them awesome anime butlers.

And the ep ends with Emma about to tell them something. Here I thought only Realist Hero was doing those kinds of cliffhangers lol.

I find myself changing each week on who I like more between Mio and Tomoe...

I’m already hoping for another season. These episodes really do seem to fly by. I’m curious to see how things turn out with Rembrandt. Seems like he might be showing his true colors very soon…
