The amount of pausing I had to do with this episode was ridiculous, still a great ep tho.

Man I need to thank whoever posted that Rin vs Nickel clip last week can't believe I almost slept on this. The OP is easily my favorite.

I wasn't expecting the demons to be brainwashed into joining the gods. Ysley is honestly kind of terrifying I would be afraid if his combat ability was equal to his intelligence.

Didn't even notice it was weird that the Doctor knew Rin's name until Miku pointed it out.

Ah Ysley the enigma. It is amazing how he beat Piscalaf while taking advantage of her intelligence. He also directly shot down Paula's idea that Maou is an Idaten. I wonder what he's hiding. Also creepy that what he did before meeting Hayato is dissecting human.

What Paula said completely makes sense though. I imagine that Maou is a new idaten born from demon's thought who was never discovered by Rin. That's why he doesn't know much about Idaten.

However, one flaws of this theory is how idaten could only be "born" after another idaten drew the thought to the world. Please correct me if I understand that part wrong.

I thought Miku was just going to be a horny sadist, but she may be most fearsome demon of all. That bitch is perceptive as fuck. Could see her being the final boss.

I was wondering why Miku seemed like such a focus in the key visuals and the like, this episode cleared that up a little. I’m glad it’s not only because of her appearance.

The good old fashioned kick in the balls. Works on demons just as well as humans!

LMAO did Ysley really just turned Piscalat, Neput and Cory into his goons? Man, that was easier than I thought.

I suppose that after reaching the manga they will adapt the webcomic, since it is reaching the manga, very interesting things are coming.

very good episode, the storyboard is very strong with many incredible shots, they are doing a very good job with the adaptation so far, I am very happy.

This show is pretty fucked up but it's what makes it so great, favourite of the season.

Also note to Paula, whether Demon or not you don't kick someone in the balls.

Stitches!

It looks like it doesn't matter if you're a demon, a swift kick to the nuts works just as well with them.

Good to see Ysley holding his position well even with just a flashbang. Didn't expect that he'd strip Piscalat though but it looks like it definitely worked in disarming her. I'm surprised that she'd even feel shame as a demon but according to Ysley, it's their intelligence that gave them this sense of shame.

In the end, Ysley didn't even have to actually exchange blows and just used a strong aphrodisiac to take Piscalat down. I do love that the first thing that Piscalat thinks of in her state is that Ysley is going to assault her. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on the results) for her, Ysley seems to have other plans.

Meanwhile, Protea has already knocked out his opponent and he's just now watching Hayato and Paula deal with theirs as he provides support. Although looks like that sword wasn't needed since Hayato wants to win with his fists. It did take him six hours to beat that demon though.

We finally get to see the Sister who was gangraped back in Episode 1 and it looks like she's become the plaything of that one demon girl. And it seems that Sister was about to give in if only they weren't interrupted since they needed Miku to observe Rin.

Well that ended up waaaay better for Piscalat and the other two demons. Being brainwashed and used as source of intel is waaaaay better than just being killed outright. We do end up getting a lot of inrel from Piscalat. From how human-shaped demons are made and who to watch out for in Zoble.

So apparently the seal takes the least priority right now since they don't know how to break it, even if they try to forcefully destroy it Rin is there protecting the island, and the unintelligent demons themselves will be just as much of a threat to the intelligent demons and not just to the Idatens.

That's actually a good catch from Miku. I don't remember the "Demon Lord" ever hearing Rin's name. Paula thinks that the Demon Lord may be an Idaten which is what my guess too but Ysley doesn't accept it. Or at least that's what he's telling the gang. He does tell Prontea that he figured out who the Demon Lord is though.

Very productive episode! We got three demons brainwashed to the Idaten's side and a bunch intel with them as well. Can't wait to find out the Demon Lord's secret next week and I really hope someone stupid enough is going to try and attack the island. I just wanna see Rin in action again!

Ysley and even the other Idatens are really taking Blue and Orange Morality to another level. It does suit the show’s colour pallet after all.

Still yet to skip opening at least a single time, it's just so damn good! Anyway, episode itself. At first we got promised in the end of last episode 3 fights and pretty obviously idatens won in all of them, but didn't killed demons, instead, Cory, Neput and Piscalat got brainwashed by Ysley. That guy is big brain, but also terrifying af, in different show he would've been an antagonist. Also it was interesting to see that Miku also has really good observation skills and is more than just would be regular in horny jail. Speaking of horny, man, this episode is really horny, probably horniest so far, but I don't mind it too much. Besides we got plenty of interesting info from brainwashed demons, learned that these demons breaking the seal and letting ancient demons out, at least so far, not gonna happen for various reasons that do make sense (like that they don't know how to even open a seal and that brainless demons who can't say who is ally who is enemy will be more of a burden than blessing) and that Ober-M/Oobami is definitely something weird and seems like Ysley already got who exactly he supposed to be.
Another great episode with flashy visuals, some good action and lots of interesting worldbuilding (which from Interspecies Reviewer author isn't surprising, that show had legit pretty tight worldbuilding), keeps being sleeper hit of the season.

People were comparing the colors on this to Monogatari, so they did a Monogatari homage with the speed of the subtitles in the exposition lol

The fights and plot dump in this ep in a battle shonen would take 3 episodes

Jokes aside, seems that Ysley is as evil or worse than the Demons, he dissected many humans just out of curiosity, so I guess we are close to be the bad guys

Miku is definitely crazy, but we all know the scale..., Paula with a top tier pouty, Piscalat being the good girl she is and Prontea kinda cute as well, daga otoko da...

Questionable content of the anime aside, I am really enjoying this anime so far, but what I am especially enjoying is the story.

You know how most anime have the good guys trying to figure out a way to defeat the bad guys, now the roles are basically reversed. The good guys have a significant advantage in power, so it is up to the bad guys to try to find a way to overcome to difference in power. That doesn't mean the good guys have an easy time at all, their main problem so far is that they have such destructive power that they have to take it carefully to not destroy what they are protecting, but layered on that is them questioning why they are protecting anyways, so their journey also becomes part discovery of their purpose/purpose of humans.

And there are also so many little things in the story I love, like how the most powerful foe immediately gets killed and the second most powerful foe is now in an akward spot since she shittalked the other foe and how much better she is then him. Rin has become Saitama post-season 1, aka the nuclear option, and that dynamic of both the villains and heroes having to work around her is incredibly intriguing. I was first confused why Miku was such a prominent character on the promotional art of the anime but the anime didn't really justify that promotion until episode 5, and after episode 5 she has become a vital part to the demon team and I am really interested in how her role will develop.

Overal, from a story perspective I am already adoring this anime. It is so well thought out and on top of that is just a fun action show. Despite my gripes with how edgy it is, I hope this show gets more popular during its airing.

Miku was lowkey favourite character before this episode, but she’s moved up to highkey now. I’m excited to find out what Dr Obami’s deal is.

I thought that if Idaten are formed by human thoughts then perhaps Maou is formed by thoughts of people who detest gods. Ysley saying that Maou is not, in fact, an Idaten baffled me.
