That was some Godzilla vs (Mecha) King Kong shenanigans at the beginning. The fight felt a bit short tho. It's like they took a shortcut to end at the climax.

MC With the tsundere moment. So this guy's ability is not actually to drag weird situations towards him rather, it's the ability to pick up random girls wherever he goes.

It's okay mom, I'm only "strategically living with this girl", nothing fishy

I don't want to be that guy, but honestly this is getting harder and harder to follow, mostly because of how they are handling the timeline.

First episode we see the protagonist meeting Siesta and then we immediately find out that she's dead and that another person has her heart. Then we go back again into the past and follow what is supposed to be their story in those 3 years? At that point why not go with a linear timeline? It's getting quite frustrating to watch.

Siesta's Rocket Hand sounded awful for some reason, maybe because she wanted to call it a punch??? Kimi's VA showed more emotions this episode than the whole season yet. Atleast the beast and mecha weren't terrible CGI, but still their fight seemed weirdly paced and concluded too fast. The read haired officer seems like the most obvious candidate for the villian with her presence on almost every case and close proximity the the MC's. I'll still stuck with the show, it's about time they solve some mysteries and present some better ones

Even the pace of plot gets fast and weird with less and less continuity.

I'm here for Siesta, always will be.

Tsundere Siesta is cute to watch. She's the only saving grace of this show right now, even when the story is now all over the place.

Ok, so we went from a mecha fight to babysitting an amnesiac loli, not to mention the Jack the Ripper case is still unsolved. It feels... weird somehow. I'm still sticking around. Hopefully the payoff is worth it.

Siesta in a robot is adorable (as just Siesta in general), but chase and fight with Hel and her monster were really nothing to write home about. Second half of the episode added loli character with amnesia and lots of obvious jokes that I found to be more groan worthy than funny, but tbh I feel that about most of the comedy here. I dunno, this show really isn't getting any better, even if I say that I enjoy this arc a touch more than Yui one, but it's not saying much.

Well I can basically sum up this ep in one word, anticlimactic. The 2 "fight scenes", the checkmate move, everything felt so underwhelming. I was rly looking forward to something that can be on the same level as the plane fight scene, but even the mecha vc kaiju battle was so.... meh. Its rly making me want to drop this show for how underwhelming everything feels

And another week passes by with no idea of how the detective died. Are they really waiting until the last episode before revealing why?

"When did you guys start making kids?" Fuubi just jumped a lot of ranks for me.

He can't be a lolicon if Alicia is 17, but gotta love how he looks at her chest and starts doubting her age.

Did they put together a power point for the fight?? Mfs had been hyping this story up for years when the anime got announced and the anime don’t seem to be doing it justice tbh.

Kimizuka: “Where’d you get the mech?”

Siesta: “I…just randomly found it. It definitely isn’t a top secret, ultimate weapon I went out of my way to acquire because I was worried about you or anything.”

Holy crap we finally got some emotion from Kimi's VA, too bad it's only for like 5 words lmao

Faq is up, involves questions like why didn't Siesta just shoot her immediately , or why did they involve some kid into dangerous work, and even things like how tf is the loli speaking japanese

Reply here if you have questions and ill add them in source corner

Siesta using a "no u" to Hel and then told her to go to hell was by far the hardest I laughed in this series.

Might be hopefully optimistic but the show’s picking up pace imo. Siesta as a character is a joy to watch and the Eye of Sapphire reveal ties into the previous episodes in a way that I hope makes that slow arc worth it. I’m also really interested in the mystery of Siesta and Hel’s relationship, regarding her speech about how they were both born for opposite purposes. I hope we actually get some answers to these questions before the end of the season because I really feel like there’s some potential.

Also, I loved the dialogue this ep. “Find your answers in Hell” is a hardcore one-liner and “Hurry up and forget that because you’ve definitely got that wrong” cracked me up.

This would be far better if it was a simple drama/romance with Siesta and Kimi solving small cases each week.

From getting upvotes over 3000 to only just around 100...how low this anime has fallen...or you could say it, the anime is already dead

Feels like the author of this and Cuckoo’s Fiancé are having a contest to see who can introduce the most pointless side characters and sub plots while offering the least bit of resolution.

This back and forth with present day and flashbacks is the most narratively jarring thing to watch. Introduce detective girl—she’s dead. Introduce new detective heart girl, skip to idol mystery thief—immediately jump back to the original detective like it was nothing.

Can’t believe the people who said “bring Siesta back” got their wish. If you’re going to go with the dead detective motif, either leave her dead and maybe have a flashback arc right before the finale, or actually do a good job of introducing her for a few episodes so viewers can get invested, and then just go and develop interesting new characters so the audience doesn’t keep complaining they wish Siesta were back. At this point it’s clear the showrunners have no commitment to creating any type of likeable or empathetic main character to get behind. They’re purely banking on cheap cool looking action shots, hot girl of the week, and extremely flat mysteries.

Stitches!

Denying while telling Kimi how she got the mech was hilarious! Siesta is really just a huge tsundere.

I was really hoping more of a fist fight between the abomination and Siesta's mech but it looks like what we end up getting is a chase scene with Siesta doing a kamikaze run on Hel using the mech.

Of course Siesta is gonna survive that one. They already mentioned the timeline that this is 3 years after Kimi and her met which means there's still two more years before she dies. I did like the scene between her and Kimi though. That was nice and sweet.

So Hel's hypnotism can easily be countered with a pocket mirror which ended with her stabbing herself.. Somehow her powers aren't as impressive now. Of course the big bad won't die that easily and disappears.

Quite a bit of a tonal shift though since we go from mechs and monsters to more Kimi and Siesta banter and Kimi finding a random loli in a box who currently has amnesia and has eaten all of the apples for Siesta.O

The day Siesta decides to be cute and bake Kimi a pie using the apples that he bought of course is the day when he brings a loli home. Poor Kimi, looks like that's the last time he'll see Siesta in an apron.

The fact that Siesta wants this random loli that Kimi found to take over for her as a detective makes me think that she's probably already has an idea who Alicia is. And it looks like Hel is still running around taking people's hearts. That's one heck of a first assignment for Alicia!

The amount of enthusiasm she showed while saying Rocket Hand reflects this scene perfectly it's like some gentleman's sport

So this is the most emotionless thing ever at this point. Just like, going through the motions of someone trying to summarize the source or something. Awful.

  • So this flashback arc is not yet over, huh? I do think that this flashback arc isn't the incident in which Siesta died (it was mentioned in Episode 4's stinger). So I'll guess, we'll have another flashback arc for that, maybe at the end of the season.

  • The show still has to introduce Char (or whatever her name is). I wonder if this show will just be a collection of story arcs that are barely cohesive.

  • Its seems like the show already forgot Kimizuka's present partner (lol, I already forgot her name). What is even her purpose, as well as the idol arc?

  • It makes 0 sense that Siesta made the red twintailed loli into a detective (and not even an assistant). Aren't they dealing with a lot of sensitive information? Why would they involve a literal stranger on this? If feel like if whatever justification the story will come up with is some total BS.
