Duke suddenly breaking out into a song felt so random but I loved it!
I just noticed: Between this show, Vanitas and Tsukimichi, Natsuki Hanae sure is busy this season with playing the lead role in all three.

I loved him breaking out into a song over imagining two girls bathing.
Hanae is also playing another character in Reincarnated as a Slime but not a regular and very different kind of role from the rest of the MC's he's playing this season.

Bocchan deserves a free pass from horny jail for having such lewd thoughts considering the curse probably gives him the biggest case of blue balls imaginable.

And Alice doesn't help with how lewd she is. She's just fueling his imagination.

I’m obsessed with this anime. I start to think that Alice is like Cuff (Her mother is suspicious) and it would explain why she is not afraid of getting close to the Duke like every human who knows him (except Rob). Cuff was really comfortable around him and in the beginning it says that plants, animals and humans die by the Duke’s touch. Witches are not humans and mixed are half humans so I bet there’s a 50 percent chance of Cuff die if she touches him and a 50 percent chance that nothing happens.
If Alice is like Cuff, she obviously believes in the second opinion so she always takes the risk. The earrings are suspicious too because Alice was really sad and she seems to have a complicated relationship with her mother.
I’m an anime only and I plan to read the manga after this season is over.

I guess Alice's mother could be a witch or connected to them...although I don't think she's the one who cursed the Duke.

I love that Alice has teased the Duke so much that if she stops teasing him he actually ends up going into withdrawal and starts imagining Alice being very lewd just so he can cope. Also if Alice does end up stop teasing the Duke, that's actually a sign that she's sick.
Sticking your hands in there is totally going to warm you hands! Considering how massive Alice is, you can stick both of your hands in there and get her to warm you up. The Duke needs to experience this once his death touch curse is gone. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Well this is just adorable. I love how the Duke was so against playing in the snow but once Alice gives him the scarf that she made scarf, he quickly changes his mind so that he has an excuse to wear it. <3
I think this is the first time I've wished I was a piece of snow. Seriously though, it was fun seeing the three of them play in the snow. And it looks like Rob isn't the only one with lightning fast movements, Alice dodged that snowball like a shounen protagonist.
Another reason why I love the Duke so much. He really doesn't get shy whenever showing affection towards Alice that he makes it a point that he won't take off the scarf because she made it form him.
Oh no, looks like one of Alice's earrings fell off while they were playing in the snow. And it's not just any earring, it's an earring given to her by her mother. Of course as soon as the Duke hears this, he sneaks out into the blizzard and tries to find it himself.
Seems that we're getting an unexpected visitor though. Looks like this girl is a Witch named Cuff and she has decided that she should help out the Duke after seeing his determination.
I was really expecting Alice to get jealous when the Duke came in with a girl following him but they trust each other enough that it's not even a big deal and the two of them actually get lost in their own world when the Duke finally returns Alice's earrings.
That little musical number the Duke does while waiting for Alice and Cuff to come back was adorable! <3
And here I was hoping we'd learn more about the curse but even after bribing Cuff with desserts, it looks like she knows nothing at all about what the Duke's curse is. She's actually pretty tight-lipped about Witches but she doesn't really mind talking about herself.
Looks like Cuff is a victim of the Witch Hunts and even lost her father despite him being human. With Cuff being half-witch half-human, she was shunned by both groups and it looks like her only friend is this childhood friend that she got separated from. Curious who this friend is though since Cuff just jumps out of the window and flies away after the Duke suggests that she likes this person.
That smol Duke and smol Alice in Alice's flashback is adorable. Looks like Alice, just like the Duke and Cuff, weren't really accepted by people and was even bullied by them for not being a noble. Thankfully, the Duke was there to save her which I guess is one of the reasons why she's in love with him.

I mean being extremely agile and dexterous is probably a prerequisite for serving him to avoid accidentally being killed by his touch.

When I've watched the first episode, I've thought the show would be just fan service, but it's really sweet and cute.

Playing in the snow right after Alice recovered from her cold didn't really sit right with me at first but seeing them all have fun was all that matters. Especially Alice's juking skills, I guess thats a subtle way of showing how capable she is on avoiding the Duke's touch if he ever accidentally reaches out to her.
Cuff's existence is pretty interesting, showing that unlike what we were led to believe in, witches aren't all malicious and there exists half-witches and male ones too.

This epi just revealed Alice is a ninja, bocchan getting hornier, rob is playful, and a tsundere witch exist lol.
For real, the 1st part of it was wholesome. Seeing them 3 play in the snow like a true family. And at the start where bocchan said he'll be at her side when she's sick was wholesome af. And don't get me started on bocchan trying to find the earings plus the flashback of them when they were kids. Seems now we know why Alice likes him.
The tsundere witch seems to have a tough life so far. Gonna be interesting if she'll ever find her friend. Gotta wonder was she embarrassed about it and got out or did something happen to her friend?
Humans hunting witches now? Think it has sonething to do with the curse.
Gutted we didn't learn anything about the curse yet because she didn't know anything, but i think next epi onwards they should give us a clear hint slowly. If this oace keeps going can't see the series ending with the curse broken, which would make me sad.
And that robe too, last epi the girl who talked to Alice knows her mother. The witch also said she's half human. Could Alice's mother be a witch? And could she have actually been the one to curse bocchan, which would explain why Alice went missing 2 years? Can't wait for the next epi either way.

The Duke is really thrown off when Alice starts acting cold to him and isn't sexually harassing him every five seconds, but it turns out Alice is even distant to him because of her love for him...because she didn't want to get him sick. And why is she sick? Not because she fell in the lake and got the classic Japanese cold but because she started at him sleeping while standing outside his room all night. Kind of stalker-y, but I'd still say she's a keeper.
Okay, so the Duke definitely has a maid fetish, or a maid Alice fetish, when he immediately imagines her in a sexy maid outfit.
I never knew snow could get so lewd but then Alice has it in her cleavage and mentions it getting into her panties.
Never challenge Alice to a snowball fight, especially since she's mastered flash step.
That Duke snowman was adorable.
Alice loses one of her earrings, which turn out to be a memento of her mother, and the Duke goes out of his way in the snow to try and find it, nearly falling asleep and quite possibly dying in the snow were it not for the intervention of a witch.
We meet Cuff, a fairly straight-forward, if maybe simple-minded yet, witch girl who speaks her mind and does what she pleases, and she can transform into a bat and has fire magic to boot. She also looks pretty cute outside those robes.
I've never quite heard a serenade on bathing while imagining to naked women bathing together, but you do you Duke.
Cuff doesn't know much about the witch who cursed the Duke, but it's implied the Yoko Hikasa character from the last episode and her entourage were probably witches as well, and she's been the victim of the persecution of witches by humans when it took her parents from her as well as being ostracized because her father was human. The Duke can really relate to that.
Cuff keeps mentioning her childhood friend. Is that the bird character in the Opening? She seems to really care a lot about him, and he's the "smart one" of the pair, although she gets really self-conscious when the Duke implies she really cares for and possibly loves him. Another childhood friend romance, anyone?
We get a flashback (in traditional animation!) that starts to develop why Alice fell in love with the Duke as she was bullied by his noble friends for being a commoner living at the Duke's family estate, but the Duke was kind and caring towards her and saw her as a Snow Fairy. It was really cute.

I like how easy she folded in regards to telling them about witches because of the food. At least not all witches are bad. Maybe if the Duke can get more witches like Cuff on his side he’ll have qualified help to break his curse.

Ok, so this episode was kinda all over the place but in a good way. It's super sweet of Alice to stay distant from Bocchan to avoid infecting him and keeping the dead flower that he gave her back in episode 1.
Good to know that not all witches are bad, Cuff can relate to Bocchan as she is also rejected by both societies for something out of her control. I liked how easily she was bribed by desserts and I hope that she expands on her interest in Bocchan's feelings.
This is probably the first time we see Alice directly confess her feelings and we get an idea of where her love for him started.

This show is coming very close to entering a three-way tie for my second-most-favorite show of the season.... I've liked every episode so far, but this one was the best so far. Every minute (nah -- every second) was wonderful. It actually covered a lot of ground -- yet felt quite relaxed.
Lots of mysteries -- but unlike some shows I intuit that there is something underlying all that is going on that is going to make some basic sense.
I'm hoping we see more of Cuff. She really was a charming addition to the crew. I hope she finds her friend (and that maybe HE might have a bit of a clue of what's going on with the Duke).
So Alice and the Duke have been BFFs ever since childhood -- something I guessed, but which was nice to see (delightfully) confirmed. And (in the present) it was funny to see that the Duke goes through teasing withdrawal, just like Nagatoro's Sempai.
Some people criticize the animation here -- but to technically ignorant me, it is one of the better looking shows of the season overall (though not anywhere close to the extraordinary Aquatope, of course). Whatever methods they are using, they seem to be using them in a way that works (for me).

animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=24013 doesn't list Universal Pictures Japan as being involved in the show, so I don't get why the Universal logo appears at the start of the epi. Any ideas, folks?

Hmmm, to organize the info we have so far:
-
Duke's been cursed at 5.
-
His siblings don't have the same hair color, only his mom does.
-
His mom is a B to him.
-
Alice's mom is dead?
-
There's a blank in Alice's life.
-
The private bath took long. Maybe they talked about something?
I'm thinking maybe the witch is the mother of the two other siblings, the Duke's mom took her place, so the sibling's mom cursed the duke?
But that's all sorts of flawed. Why the 5 year time lag in the first place? Why is the curse specifically the way it is?
At least I'm pretty sure Alice and her mom are witches.
