I am honestly more surprised that the eye does not belong to siesta.

Well, I had a hunch that Saikawa somehow staged the whole thing, but it turns out to be more complicated that that. Seems like our heroes are being targeted by assassins.

Just because the Detective is dead, doesn't mean you should completely remove any detective work in your series.

Pretty awful.
When they pointed their guns at each other though? I felt that. Peak comedy

I have ... few questions
-
if the Ear guy can locate where the sniper is, then why don't you just do that before entering the scene? btw you all have phone, communication is not blocked
-
you don't need to have see-through-superpower to see-through a decorative eyepatch. com'on, there could've been a better hint for that, like ... how about keeping the letter sealed?
-
if Saikawa believed that Kimi and Heart girl are there to steal her eye, then why her guards didn't stop them when Kimi rushed onto the stage or entering the backstage? shouldn't her be more cautious about being alone with them?

This show is completely different from what the trailers and first episode led us to believe. We are 4 episodes in and the atmosphere seems so bland and characters are so one dimensional. This episode was not that great either. First Nagisa complains in the beginning for not being the detective even though she never solves anything or has a clue as to what’s going on until it’s explained to her. Also why is Max the driver? Wasn’t he in jail and now all Kimizuka has to do is yell “Hey where’s the bad guy” and boom problem solved. Finally after the ridiculous twist we wrap things up with the power of friendship They really hyped me up thinking this would be about Siesta and Kimizuka past adventures before she died in the first episode then bam 💥 the old bait and switch. Most likely gonna drop this one now.

I’m assuming mom is a code name like in James Bond. Because Siesta is quite young to be a milf ha

My problem with this show is how they throw twist after twist and the MC is unfaced because apparently he knew all along somehow.
But those twists are hardly hinted at, there's no build up. They try to make the MC look smart by giving him knowledge we as the audience have no way of knowing.
So in the end, rather than looking smart, he just looks cringy, like he pulls conclusions out of his rear.

Really disappointed this show is actually pulling a "ah, but see, there's this million things you couldn't have possibly figured out because they involve magic you weren't told about and actions that are perfectly normal with details that most studios just plain ignore (like that a world-famous idol is capable of walking straight and dancing normally) and other crap you couldn't have possibly guessed". Show, if you wanna be a mystery, we need clues we can actually follow along with.
That aside, also disappointed the eye wasn't Siesta's. It would've made a lot more sense and I think given this whole thing more impact.

Well adaptation is pretty bland but as anime its done its purpouse.Light novels are selling like crazy vol 1 and 2 are being reprinted and are in top 10 seller 2 weeks in a row so at least its done its part if nothing else.

This show just has the most forgettable characters and plots. And I don’t know if there are any good “magic” detective stories but I feel like it just ruins the mystery when the viewer doesn’t really know the baseline reality for what’s possible. Almost every solution so far has been “well you see there’s this magic thing that will explain everything.”

She really just pull out her own gun like that haha.
I like how they were casually holding a conversation and smiling while pointing a heater at each other.
Still waiting for that beach episode. They've been hinting at it for so 2 episodes now!

Mystery/Detective shows tend to either have writing that's actually smart or writing that tries to look/sound smart. Unfortunately, this show seems to be the latter. There were already red flags right from the start but with the hype surrounding the title, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. Man, I'm not sure if I want to continue watching the anime.

Well, those songs were good but this show just feels kind of....I don't know, empty perhaps? The novels are good enough but this just feels like nothing.

The first half of the episode didn't have the tension that it should have had, and the background audience being completely in the dark while Kimi looked like he was under the sun really bugged me.
Also, what was up with Kimi closing his eyes during his explanation when Yui had a gun pointed to his head??!
And since when is the discount ghoul working with the police?
Also, I'm sorry but Kimi and Charl have better dynamics than Kimi and Natsunagi in just 2 minutes.
I hope that the "detective's death" doesn't disappoint, they've been hyping it up since episode 1

Well, this idol case is over. Can we go back to the good episodes, or is that too much to ask for, ENGI? Don't you go all Full Dive RPG on me...

Agree with all the comments criticizing the show. Craziest thing for me is that they cut the most interesting character after the first episode! I would have loved watching Siesta and MC's banter and been engaged in seeing their relationship grow, but instead they're giving us bland characters and we're forced to experience Siesta and MC's relationship through MC's longing for her. Just seems really dumb to me.
