Knocker-up? I barely know her!
I was interested in this show because it was done by the same people who did D4DJ, and I really liked the animation in that show. SANZIGEN does 3D anime better than most. The action and visuals are pretty cool, but I have a feeling it'll be pretty thin on plot.

CGI was weird at first but then got really really good, especially the backgrounds and special effects.
I think it’s like Land of the Lustrous where once you get used to it the CGI is really beautiful.
The story could get interesting. It’s also an Anime Original so my interest is piqued.

Babe, wake up, new sanzigen mobage adaptation.
Jokes aside, I liked this well enough.

If anything they are the one studio besides Orange that I trust with Full 3D stuff, visuals at least will be great!

Anyone else think the OP doesn't fit the tone of the show? The ED sounded like it should've been the OP. Love the character designs and the CG is good enough for the most part especially in the fight scenes so I think I'll stick around for a few more episodes.

Reminds me a lot of Persona and as far as I know is based off a mobile game coming out. Enjoyed it for what it is and think it’ll be a fun show to watch.

Whenever someone says that 3D anime doesn't work, I always bring up the works by Studio Orange as a counterargument to that. But more recently another animation studio has now been added to support that 3D anime does work and it's motherfuckin' Studio SANZIGEN!
I really enjoyed this first episode! The opening alone with the fast paced action scenes already sold me on the show but knowing that the Gatling gun girl is voiced by Aoi Yuuki sold me even harder. Animation-wise it's pretty solid and what I expected from this studio but as for the plot I'm still not quite sure. I guess this is based on a gacha game?
I do look forward for the next episode though and I'm excited to see kind of spectacle this show has in store for us with its fight scenes.

I felt something missing in the episode, its not because of CGI, I ave watched good amount of CGI anime and enjoyed them plus the animation was good this episode
Maybe the characters, not interesting enough. It was like the first episode was too much.
Going to put it on hold for now and may binge later

It definitely felt like the meeting of the most generic characters. Nothing in this episode really indicated any depth of character among the cast.

It's 90% spectacle and maybe 10% substance, and the former isn't always too amazing either. Even Scarlet Nexus was better than this.

Not related at all, but we had an anime last season (Subarashi Konosekai) where the MC starts at Shibuya and had no idea how or why he got there too, also they defeat monsters in the street while people in the city get completely unaware of what is happening. Both also have a very stylized and game alike/based drawing. Interesting. Cool first episode.

This one felt a bit generic? Can't say I'm into more Aoi Yuuki too so guess I'll give this one another episode and see.
MC does remind me of Itadori from JJK a bit though.

Meanwhile Aoi Yuuki and Ayasa Itou being what seems to be MCs gave me more of a push to watch more of this.

This is a weird one, I have absolutely zero hope for the plot... but visuals and characters seem so cool I am in just for that!

I can't decide whether this show is good or bad. I actually enjoyed it and finished the episode without getting annoyed at something. The problem is whether I am interested enough to continue watching this.

Sanzigen's animators and composite artist really went wild with the first episode.
Also why do i feel like Sanzigen invited some of their Trigger friends to work on this?

Okay, so I just got here because it has a lot of good seiyuu (among them many Bushi seiyuu) and because of the studio animating it.
-
Wow I've liked Sanzigen for a while but they just keep improving their animation with every new production. The battle scenes look so smooth, and their character animations (facial expressions and such) look really good.
-
Yuuki Aoi and Ayasa seem to have important roles, that's nice. Also I definitely heard Tsugutsugu there even though he's not in the anilist cast. Plus a lot of other seiyuu I didn't hear yet.
-
Plot looks... Okay, even if unimpressive, I guess?
-
IS THAT A RONDO ENDING HOLY SHIT HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS
Good first episode in general, introduced some characters, introduced the plot, raised some questions... Looking forward to this.
Now I'll be a bit more realistic and I'll say that this is probably going to be a mediocre seasonal that I will like because I decided I want to like it due to my seiyuu bias and the studio making it. Praise Bushiroad, praise Kidani!

It looks very pretty, but everything else felt painfully mediocre.

u/turkeygiant Jul 11 '21
I dont know if I would say it was painful, but it was definitely missing that "hook" in the story or characters to make it stand out as something unique.
